Carson stared in horror at the widening crack in the submarine's starboard side, his hands and feet turning ice-cold.

The enormous pressure difference between the inside and outside would first slam them against the wall farthest from the breach. Then the water pressure a thousand meters below the surface would crush their bones in an instant, flattening them into meat patties. But before that, their skulls would shatter first, spraying their brains like jam...
