"We won't say anything! You—you should just give up!" The leader, also Alakazam's trainer, a tall man named Zou Ping, sniffled and declared resolutely with an expression that said, "Hit me all you want, I still won't talk."
Heiduo turned his head away in disgust. "Can you wipe your nose before talking that kind of crap?" He hid in the half-collapsed top-floor stairwell, using the iron door to shield himself from the splashing rain.
He and Wallace had planned to pry some information out of these "intelligence sources" who had delivered themselves to their door, but the progress had been far from ideal. These people were in poor physical condition; after being Frozen and drenched by the rain, four had passed out. Only this Alakazam trainer remained awake, though he was not far from passing out himself.
"Their clothes are highly waterproof, and the hoods built into them can keep out the rain too. Hmm... this degree of sealing and this material..." Wallace felt the clothing on several people. Heiduo was very curious why Wallace was concerned about their clothes right now.
Then came something that stunned Heiduo.
Wallace nodded lightly with a serious expression. "Heiduo! I might know where they came from!"
"Pfft!" Heiduo nearly choked on his own saliva. "Wait! How do you know?"
By touching their clothes? You didn't have that kind of Psychic power in the original work!
Wallace turned and smiled. "I recognize the material of their clothes... It has something to do with a friend of mine. His family owns a high-tech company and is developing a special kind of shoe, so they have been searching for all sorts of unusual materials for the uppers. If I remember correctly, this material was developed by a company in Kanto."
That worked too!?
Heiduo knew Wallace
