Heiduo had used all six of his team's utility players. Everyone except Scizor had taken the field at least once before they finally dealt with the thirty Core Class students.

"Finally, I can have a bite to eat."

Heiduo sat on a rock, holding a boxed lunch a teacher had brought him. Watching the Pokémon battles of the students still taking their exams in the distance, he ate with great relish.

What a perfect accompaniment to a meal! Absolutely perfect!

"Senior, you're only fifteen?" The Core Class monitor squatted beside Heiduo and struck up a conversation with a grin.

Heiduo glanced at him. "Why aren't you going home to eat? What are you hanging around here for?"

"I wanted to learn from you. They didn't recognize you, but I've got sharp eyes, so I did." The monitor rubbed his nose and chuckled. "Your performance in the Dragon King Tournament really shocked a lot of us."

Heiduo ate mouthful after mouthful of rice. "I don't have any experience worth learning from. Just one thing: fight, and you're done."

Talking a hundred times was nowhere near as useful as fighting a hundred real battles.

The monitor's Pokémon was a level fifty-three Gyarados. Setting aside the powerful impression left on him by the Pokédex Holder, having a level fifty-three ace at thirteen was already incredibly impressive.

"Just fight..." The male monitor was stunned, then gave an awkward laugh.

And just like that, the conversation died.

After hurriedly finishing his meal, Heiduo patted his butt and ran off to find an open space to shear some wool.

The male monitor hesitated for two seconds, suppressed his hunger, and followed behind Heiduo. He would never give up a chance to improve himself.
