Umbreon saw its human-heater plan fall through and gave an unhappy "hmph."
Heiduo ignored it. He glanced at the still-sleeping Growlithe, feeling somewhat conflicted.
He actually liked Growlithe quite a bit. Though it wasn't humanoid, its Special Attack was decent, its move pool was broad, and it could fit into a sunny-day team.
But the problem was that he had come here for Larvitar. That was his first priority. His second was training on Mt. Silver.
His backpack was stuffed full of Pokémon food. Many unnecessary odds and ends, like books, spare clothes, and Garchomp's toys, had mostly been left behind at the house in Blackthorn City.
Under these circumstances, adding a Growlithe might mean taking away one portion of Charmander's rations.
After all, the amount of food he had brought was fixed. It had been calculated based on Charmander's needs, and many of the ingredients had to be bought in specific places. It wasn't something he could get just by asking someone else to shop for him.
There was no way to spare Growlithe's share.
He could only let it go.
Heiduo shook his head. If Growlithe could thrive on human food like Umbreon, he might have caught it. In any case, the food meant for him wouldn't last three months, so he would definitely need to find another solution.
Of course, Heiduo wasn't just bragging about enduring three hard months. He really intended to stay on Mt. Silver for three months. If his personal supplies ran short, he could go to Silver Town. Though Silver Town wasn't open to outsiders, staff members were stationed there, and Heiduo could buy supplies from them.
Or he could simply buy them from the Pokémon Rangers. Wasn't that Muto acquainted with Clair? Buying some food should be easy enough, right?
