When Heiduo saw Scizor get viciously slammed into a rock, and that rock shattered with a loud bang, he thought that Psychic-type Pokémon really were smart. They even knew how to use terrain kills.

If a flesh-and-blood person crashed into that, their brains would probably splatter out.

And he did not know whether Xatu understood that Scizor resisted Psychic-type moves, but while this method of turning a special move into a physical attack looked simple, it was actually fairly difficult to pull off.

For Xatu to choose to hard-control Scizor and slam him around, either she had acted on a whim, or she had already anticipated that mental attacks would not be very effective against him.

Combined with her earlier uncanny evasiveness, Heiduo felt the latter was highly likely.

Forgive him for failing to see how Xatu had dodged Scizor's Instant Burst and Bullet Punch. His experience was limited, but there were only a few possible explanations.
