Heiduo currently possessed a total of five Mega Stones.

Scizor, Sceptile, Charizard, Tyranitar, and Medicham.

And among the Pokémon whose Friendship had reached the level needed for Mega Evolution, only Scizor qualified.

Sceptile's Friendship was currently at 223, while Charmander's was 239.

Larvitar... its Friendship had not even reached half of 250.

Medicham's Evolution Stone was destined to be given away as a favor when the opportunity arose. Heiduo had no interest in that kind of Pokémon; it simply was not to his taste.

"What a long road ahead." Heiduo turned to look at Sceptile and Charmander. If Sceptile's Friendship could reach 250 before July, then this latecomer might become the next Pokémon to Mega Evolve.

But if it happened after July, Charmander, having evolved into Charizard, would definitely become the next Mega user before Sceptile.

That was what Heiduo thought.

Another month slowly passed.

Charmander only had one month left in which it could still stand on Heiduo's shoulder.

Because of that, the little Golden Sparkle cherished every moment of close contact with Heiduo.

So Heiduo let it cling to him all day long, though it acted as if evolving meant it would be separated from him forever.

Meanwhile.

Sceptile, which had received its Mega Stone from Heiduo long ago but had still been unable to Mega Evolve, was growing restless.

Ever since seeing Scizor's incredibly cool Mega Evolution form, every Pokémon on the team had taken the matter to heart, even Lazy Snake.

Among those who already had Mega Stones, Sceptile was the most eager. Theoretically, it had joined the team at the same time as Charmander, but Charmander had begun participating in battles much later, making Sceptile essentially Charmander's senior.

The same went for Swampert. Though it had joined later, it began battling before Charmander. When Golden
