"Such a hard-working life—"

Umbreon wailed as it boarded the disaster-relief ship with Heiduo.

It had thought that once Heiduo became a Gym Leader, it could finally live the good life of a stay-at-home shut-in. Later, it realized that Heiduo simply was not the sort to sit still. No matter what he did, he would always find something else to occupy himself with.

Being a Gym Leader was worse than living like a wild man on Mt. Silver!

Of course, Heiduo had given it the option of staying at Anomalous Magnet Mountain. It was Umbreon itself that had insisted on coming along.

So it only complained a little... Heiduo had always pretended not to hear it. This guy was forever eager to run his mouth; ignoring him was enough.

Still, Deoxys seemed rather unhappy when they left. It felt like Heiduo and the others had gone out to have fun and left it alone at Anomalous Magnet Mountain to watch the house.

But in reality, Heiduo had only brought Pokémon that were good in water or large enough to carry people through the air. Sceptile, Tyranitar, Arbok, Beedrill, Scizor, Typhlosion, and the others had all been left behind at Anomalous Magnet Mountain.

They were not going to pick fights this time, so there was no use bringing them along.

Besides, if a fight really broke out, with Lugia and Garchomp around, unless he was itching to fight Giovanni—who had gone mad searching for his son—to the death, Heiduo could still hold his own even against Norman and Steven.

Giovanni was currently riddled with serious illness. All he wanted was to find his son, see him a few more times, and have him inherit his legacy. Picking a fight with him now would obviously make him chase you down and bite.
