Background / History

Moqi grew up in Ochre Valley alongside his brother Ferrum. Unlike Ferrum's relentless training and fixation on surpassing Iron Dragons, Moqi preferred food, races, games, and wandering the valley. He nevertheless defended Ferrum fiercely, openly mocking Leijieduolei when the Iron Dragon and his allies bullied a Thunderclap Dragon. 3

After stealing tobacco leaves from the Gray Dwarves, Moqi was sentenced to guard their drying shed. The intended three-month punishment stretched beyond half a year after Valyria forgot to release him. During this period, he became frustrated at missing the Racing Competition, where his agility and knowledge of mountain trails had earned him several victories. 9 10

Leijieduolei eventually ambushed and badly beat Moqi outside the drying shed in retaliation for his insults. In Tas intervened but was injured even more severely. Moqi delivered Leijieduolei's challenge to Ferrum, leading Ferrum to defeat the Iron Dragon again and later overcome Hidorivi. Moqi then spread news of Ferrum's victory throughout Ochre Valley, treating his brother's new second-place ranking as a matter of family honor. 9 10 14

He joined Ferrum and In Tas during their exploration of the mines and the underground cavern of the Mushroom People and Little Stone Spirits. Though Moqi initially proposed taking Iron Grease by force and called himself an “exterminator,” he protected Ferrum while Ferrum separated the Stone Sprites' creation rock from the Mushroom People's fungal bed. 28 30

After Ferrum established control over Windsong Plateau, Moqi became responsible for hunting and food production. His speed and predatory skills transformed the Savage Bone Tribe's hunting methods, while he also developed a reputation as a capable local lord who knew the Mountain Goblins personally. 58 60 79

Moqi later served in Ferrum's military campaigns as a practical adviser and administrator. He persuaded Ferrum to halt an overextended vanguard so its exhausted soldiers could recover, carried out orders concerning surrendered civilians in Deerhunting Town, and organized rewards for Ferrum's army after the capture of Golden Grain City. 103 156 166

Appearance

Moqi was initially a smaller, grayish, dust-covered Chrome Dragon, visibly overshadowed by Ferrum's faster growth. By the time of Kela Ember Scar's visit, he was described as white; later, he had grown to roughly six meters long. 9 78 140

Personality

Moqi is playful, restless, food-motivated, and highly social. He enjoys catching fish and Stone Crabs, racing through mountain trails, teasing other dragons, spreading gossip, and turning ordinary meals into an event. He is deeply loyal to Ferrum and takes pride in his brother's achievements rather than envying them. Even when Ferrum's strength leaves Moqi feeling overshadowed or useless, he remains eager to support him, publicize his victories, and take on responsibilities for his territory and forces. 9 14 68 140
