Nature and Cultivation

Spirit Plants arise from ordinary flora altered by Dark Erosion or unusual energy environments, though some are deliberately cultivated from preserved seeds. Mutated plants may already possess unusual traits and can be further enhanced by the Seed Mark. 2 30

Lincon’s Seed Mark identifies plants, reveals their advancement routes, and spends Sunlight to raise their quality or direct their evolution. High-potential routes commonly require rare unlocking materials in addition to Sunlight, making advancement dependent on resources, environment, and the plant’s innate foundation. 4 101 167

A Spirit Plant’s rank alone does not determine its future. Ying warns Lincon that premature forced advancement can weaken a plant’s foundation and limit its ultimate potential; natural growth through seasons, environmental exposure, and accumulated vitality remains important. 140

Growth Protocol

After the Seed Mark reaches Level 2, Lincon can implant a Growth Protocol during evolution. This lets him control a plant’s form and selectively strengthen or weaken traits for a chosen role. 74

Potential Unleashing

Sentience and Behavior

Advanced Spirit Plants can possess emotions, consciousness, and distinct personalities. Lincon senses warmth and happiness from the Sunlight Man-Eater, while the Ghostshadow Sword Orchid awakens as a childlike consciousness that calls him its master. 3 5

Many plants cultivated through the Seed Mark develop loyalty toward Lincon. The Sunlight embedded in their growth protocols acts as a lasting mark, causing most of his advanced Spirit Plants to recognize him as their creator or master. 186

Spirit Plants serve as a core part of Longwind Fortress’s defensive network, functioning as ambushers, artillery, barriers, predators, and autonomous guards.

• Ghostshadow Sword Orchids produce sword qi, absorb Dark Energy, hide in shadows, and can become sword-like weapons through symbiosis. 5 100

Spirit Plants are not limited to warfare. Longwind Fortress develops them into an interconnected ecological system that supplies food, water, warmth, purification, illumination, and construction materials.
