Classification

Ferocious Beasts are Soul Beasts whose cultivation exceeds 200,000 years. Their defining traits include power vastly beyond ordinary Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts and, for some species, the ability to assume human form without undergoing transformation re-cultivation 145.

Human Forms

• Ferocious Beasts such as Di Tian, Bi Ji, Zi Ji, and Ice Empress can take human form while retaining their original cultivation 109 145.
• This ability is distinct from a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast’s transformation re-cultivation. Ah Yin abandoned her original cultivation to cultivate anew as a human, while Ice Empress did not weaken herself through such a process 43 145.
• The ability is not universal in practice: Xiong Jun considers his original form stronger and refuses to transform, while Ling Jing notes that the capability may depend on species 145.

Heavenly Tribulations

Ferocious Beasts face increasingly lethal Heavenly Tribulations as their cultivation rises. Myriad Demon King’s five-hundred-thousand-year tribulation generated dark-purple storm clouds and lightning powerful enough that Qian Daoliu and Golden Crocodile Douluo judged entering the forest during it too dangerous 46.

• Myriad Demon King survived the ordeal, but was left charred and significantly weakened 46.
• The event frightens other powerful Soul Beasts, including Da Ming, Ah Rou, Ah Yin, and Xiao Wu, who recognize that they may someday face the same fate 46.
• The danger of repeated tribulations helps explain why some Soul Beasts seek alternate paths, including becoming Martial Souls or cultivating in human form 46.

Star Dou Great Forest

Spirit Hall identifies six major Ferocious Beasts in the forest and classifies them as a top-secret threat to Soul Masters hunting Soul Rings there 56 89.

Far North

The Far North contains four documented Ferocious Beasts, whose existence further demonstrates that the Star Dou Great Forest is not the only territory harboring such beings 88 89.

Relations with Humanity

Spirit Hall initially treats high-level Soul Beasts as targets for Soul Rings, Soul Bones, intelligence gathering, and strategic containment. Its first encounters with the Star Dou Ferocious Beasts overturn the assumption that the forest can be safely dominated by human Titled Douluo 53 56.

• Qian Daoliu’s forces retreat after Bi Ji’s support reverses their advantage; he orders the creation of a top-secret file on the Star Dou Ferocious Beasts and warns Spirit Hall members to hunt there with extreme caution 56.
• Qian Xunji later records ten Ferocious Beasts across the Star Dou Great Forest and Far North, fearing that a united group could threaten humanity itself 89.
• Qian Daoliu considers Ling Jing’s copied Martial Souls a possible bridge to cooperation with Ferocious Beasts rather than relying solely on capture and exploitation 110.
• Ice Empress becomes the first documented Ferocious Beast to voluntarily remain beside Ling Jing in the human world, offering guidance on the Ice Jade Empress Scorpion Martial Soul 105 109.

• Hostage exchange — Myriad Demon King forces an exchange of Ah Yin for Ling Jing, prioritizing his imminent breakthrough over a prolonged war with Golden Crocodile Douluo 43.
• Myriad Demon King’s tribulation — His successful five-hundred-thousand-year breakthrough reveals both the dangers of Ferocious Beast cultivation and the scale of the powers hidden in the Star Dou Great Forest 45 46.
• Star Dou confrontation — Di Tian, Xiong Jun, Zi Ji, Scarlet King, Bi Ji, and Myriad Demon King repel Spirit Hall’s worship elders, establishing the forest as a force Spirit Hall cannot confront recklessly 54 55 56.
• Far North expedition — Qian Daoliu confirms the Far North’s own Ferocious Beast population after encountering Ice Empress and Snow Empress, expanding Spirit Hall’s records beyond Star Dou 83 85 88.
• Ice Empress’s arrival — After Ling Jing copies her Martial Soul, Ice Empress assumes human form and travels to remain beside him, shifting Spirit Hall’s approach from immediate capture toward observation and possible cooperation 104 105 110.
