Background / History

Bibi Dong’s village was destroyed by fallen soul masters, leaving her family dead. Spirit Hall soul masters rescued her and placed her in the Spirit City orphanage. At age six, she awakened Twin Martial Souls and was immediately accepted as Qian Xunji’s disciple. More than a decade later, she returned to that same orphanage as Spirit Hall’s newly appointed Holy Daughter to oversee a new awakening ceremony. 1

At the ceremony, she met Ling Jing after he awakened Innate Full Soul Power and the Mirror Beast martial soul. Drawn to his rare talent and reminded of her own orphanage past, she offered to recommend him to Qian Xunji. Ling Jing secretly formed a Mirror Contract with her, allowing him to copy her Twin Martial Souls and their traits. 2

Bibi Dong personally brought Ling Jing to Pope’s Hall, where Qian Xunji accepted him as his second disciple. As fellow disciples, they became senior sister and junior brother; she took responsibility for his daily life, cultivation, and instruction in the Death Spider Emperor’s combat methods. 3 4 6

Her favorable impression of Yu Xiaogang steadily collapsed after he repeatedly misjudged Ling Jing’s martial soul and development path. When she learned that Yu had bribed her maid Xiaoming to praise him and manipulate her feelings, Bibi Dong expelled Xiaoming and severed her relationship with Yu Xiaogang.
