Background / History

Taiqing existed as an unformed light cluster within Kunlun Mountain's Innate Grand Formation alongside Yuanshi and Tongtian. Before taking form, he sensed an ominous warning connected to Lin Changsheng's actions at Shouyang Mountain, where Lin removed resources and the Kongtong Seal from an opportunity tied to the Three Pure Ones. 87 88

After taking form, Taiqing remembered Lin Changsheng's earlier humiliation of the Three Pure Ones and initially wished to pursue revenge, though he agreed with Yuanshi that they should first seek opportunities and cultivate. 109 He later joined other Innate Sacred Beings in attempting to seize the newly forged Primordial Chaos Sword, but the effort failed. 113 114

Hongjun subsequently armed Taiqing for action against the Dream World, temporarily granting him the Taiji Diagram and the Thirty-Six-Ranked Creation Green Lotus. Taiqing received the Coiled Dragon Cudgel from the lotus's division, while the Taiji Diagram was meant to support his plans against the Changsheng Immortal Sect. 141 142

Taiqing attempted to bring Tongtian back into alignment with himself and Yuanshi. Tongtian refused to sever his connection with the Changsheng Immortal Sect, leading Taiqing to formally separate the Three Pure Ones. 142 143 Taiqing and Yuanshi then recruited Jieyin and Zhunti to stir dissatisfaction toward the Dream World under Hongjun's authority. 143

Personality

Taiqing is cautious, calculating, and strongly concerned with order, orthodoxy, and the development of his Human Religion. He initially viewed the Dream World as a threat because it concentrated resources and influence in the Changsheng Immortal Sect's hands. 141 143

He values his connection to Yuanshi and initially tries to preserve the unity of the Three Pure Ones, but he ultimately accepts separation from Tongtian when their paths prove irreconcilable. 142 143 His reliance on the Human Religion's destiny makes him increasingly anxious when its influence weakens, driving him to seek Hongjun's help and later appeal directly to Tongtian. 183 236 237

Taiqing's Dao of Non-Action becomes a personal limitation: without substantial Human Religion fortune, his cultivation progresses slowly. After receiving Lin Changsheng's guidance, he gains new insight into balancing action and non-action. 212 254 255
