On a small dirt road outside Shrek Academy, Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong walked on either side of Lu Shi.
"Zhuqing, Rongrong, I'm planning to leave Shrek."
Ning Rongrong asked in confusion, "Why are you leaving?"
Without hesitation, Zhu Zhuqing said, "I'm leaving with you."
Lu Shi explained, "I came to Shrek to become stronger, but now, this place can no longer help me."
He already had the Eight Spider Lances. There was no point in staying here, and Tang Hao was here as well.
Besides, he still had to find something similar to the Lovesick Heartbroken Red for Xiao Wu.
Ning Rongrong thought that if Lu Shi and Zhu Zhuqing left, there would be no point in her staying behind either.
"I'm going with you."
"But," she asked, "where are you going after you leave?"
Lu Shi looked into the distance. "We'll find somewhere to stay for a while and cultivate. Then we'll go to Heaven Dou Royal Academy once it opens."
There was no avoiding Dugu Bo if he wanted to obtain Immortal Herbs.
After all, the Immortal Herbs grew in his Medicine Garden.
Ning Rongrong's eyes lit up. "If you want to enroll, come find me."
She proudly patted her small chest.
"Don't forget who I am. Since you're both going to Heaven Dou Royal Academy anyway, I'll go too. With me there, couldn't we enroll whenever we wanted? Why make it so troublesome?"
The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect still held some status on the continent. Let alone an academy established by the royal family, even the royal family had to show us some respect.
Lu Shi did not refuse. "Alright, we'll go together."
"But I still have other matters to finish. I can't leave with you. Once I'm done, I'll go find you in Heaven Dou City."
He had yet to obtain Ah Yin.
Ning Rongrong instinctively pressed on, "What matters?"
Lu Shi raised his chin. "Secret. Not telling you!"
He lifted his legs and strode ahead.
"Oh, so you have secrets now!"
Ning Rongrong immediately revealed her little witch nature, baring her teeth and claws as she chased after him to interrogate him.
"Lu Shi, stop right there for this young lady!"
Watching their backs, a faint smile appeared on Zhu Zhuqing's cool face.
It carried a touch of helpless indulgence.
Then she followed them.
After returning, Lu Shi wrote a letter by hand and asked Oscar to deliver it to Flender.
Without even waiting until the next day, the three set off that very night.
Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing would head to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect first. If Lu Shi had not arrived after seven days, they would go to Heaven Dou Royal Academy ahead of him.
After parting ways, Lu Shi traveled day and night toward Holy Soul Village.
Holy Soul Village was located in Fasinuo Province, west of the Barak Kingdom.
Its straight-line distance from Suotuo City was roughly equal to three or four times the straight-line distance between Suotuo City and Star Dou Forest.
Even if Lu Shi went all out, it would take him at least three days to get there.
Fortunately, he had a Soul Beast.
"It's decided, Flame Spirit Eagle!"
With great ceremony, Lu Shi held the Poké Ball in his hand and hurled it forcefully. The Poké Ball opened in midair, releasing a Soul Beast that looked as though it was ablaze.
"Screee!"
The clear cry of an eagle rang through the night sky.
Compared to when he had first captured it, the Flame Spirit Eagle was now a full size larger. Its fiery red feathers resembled burning flames, and its cultivation had reached a thousand years.
Lu Shi rode the Flame Spirit Eagle. The feathers on its back were fluffy and soft, so pleasant to the touch that he did not want to let go.
He pointed west and said,
"Fly west. Let's go!"
With another "Screee!", the Flame Spirit Eagle spread its broad wings.
It took off at a steady pace, rising higher and higher.
The howling wind poured into Lu Shi's ears. Letting the gale toss his hair into disarray, he spread his arms and cheered.
Amazing, absolutely amazing!
This was what it felt like to live in the wind!
Early the next morning, the Shrek students gathered on the training field as usual.
When the time came, only four students had arrived, scattered here and there.
Today was Yu Xiaogang's first day of teaching, so Flender and Zhao Wuji had both come as well.
Three teachers facing four students—one fewer, and they could teach one-on-one.
Flender frowned. Were they all this lax?
They actually dared to be late?
Oscar hurried over with Lu Shi's letter in hand. "Dean, Lu Shi asked me to give you this letter last night."
Flender froze. "What was so important that he couldn't tell me directly?"
He even needed to write a letter?
Hearing Lu Shi's name, Yu Xiaogang looked over.
His prized disciple was always being overshadowed by that person.
It made him very unhappy.
He knew I was here, so he deliberately took leave?
Flender and Zhao Wuji exchanged glances as a sense of foreboding rose in their hearts.
Flender accepted the letter and scanned it. His face immediately darkened as he looked at Oscar. "He gave this to you last night?"
Oscar did not know what the letter said, but Flender's expression told him it was not good news. He answered honestly, "He gave it to me last night and said it was urgent."
Flender took a deep breath and slowly let it out.
Zhao Wuji walked over curiously. When he saw the contents of the letter, his expression turned equally grave.
In the letter, Lu Shi said he had been threatened by a mysterious expert and had no choice but to take Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong away.
He did not say who the mysterious expert was, but the two of them knew perfectly well.
It could only be Tang Hao.
There was no one else.
Yu Xiaogang wanted to lean over for a look, but Flender activated his Soul Power and shattered the letter.
Yellow scraps fluttered down like snow, landing on the grass.
"Lu Shi, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong have withdrawn from the academy. From today onward, they are no longer students of Shrek Academy."
The moment those words were spoken, everyone was shocked.
"They withdrew? Why?!"
Oscar blurted out the question.
In all of Shrek, only Lu Shi had made Oscar feel cared for and respected. Now that he was gone, Oscar would have to return to how things had been before.
And why had Ning Rongrong left with him?
Wasn't Ning Rongrong from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect?
Dai Mubai was equally stunned. What? Zhu Zhuqing had left with him too?
Why?
What was she following Lu Shi for?!
Only Ma Hongjun did not care. So they left—so what? The academy could still recruit new students.
It was just a pity that two of the three great beauties had left. He could no longer feast his eyes on them.
Tang San secretly glanced at Xiao Wu and found that she had no reaction at all, as though she had not heard.
He rejoiced inwardly. Good that they left.
Great! No one would compete with me for Xiao Wu anymore!
Yu Xiaogang was completely baffled.
What was going on?
Lu Shi had left? Great!
With him gone, Shrek Academy's number one genius student would definitely be his prized disciple!
Flender glared at Oscar. "They withdrew, so they withdrew. What do you mean, why?!"
Lu Shi's departure also made Flender feel relieved. Tang Hao was here, and it truly was dangerous. With Lu Shi's talent and character, he would shine wherever he went.
Why keep staying at Shrek Academy?
"Xiaogang, this happened suddenly. How about we cancel today's lesson?"
Yu Xiaogang refused without hesitation. "No."
It was only a few fewer people. It was not as though class could not continue.
"Today is my first day teaching. There was not much planned anyway; it's mainly to gain a basic understanding of the students."
He turned to Tang San and the others. "Starting from the right, release your Martial Souls one by one."
After he spoke, Evil Fire ignited around Ma Hongjun. A chicken comb grew from his head, and sparse feathers sprouted from his arms. He truly lived up to his grass chicken Martial Soul.
Then came Dai Mubai, possessed by the White Tiger.
Flender and Zhao Wuji exchanged glances.
Then quietly left.
Since class had begun, they were merely irrelevant bystanders. It was better to leave.
