Nature

“Demon” does not refer to a single unified lineage. The term includes beast- and bird-type cultivators, ancient bloodline descendants, transformed creatures, and cultivators whose techniques or states manifest demonic aura. The Eastern Wasteland’s Demon Race was historically scattered through deep mountains and ancient forests, with individual demon kings acting separately until Yan Ruyu emerged as a unifying figure 187.

Demonic identity is distinct from the title Eastern Demon. Jiang Ming receives that epithet because of his ruthless reputation and recurring demonic qi, despite his techniques not matching the Ruthless Empress’s inheritance 232 383.

Demon Race

Bloodlines and transformation

• Azure Bird descendants wield wind-origin power and inherit wind-path secret arts. An Azure Bird descendant with cultivation comparable to the Other Shore realm could assume human form, while a pure-blooded Azure Bird is identified by blue rather than golden wings 24 52.
• Long-Armed Demon Apes are regarded as extraordinarily rare among the Demon Race; Yan Ruyu compares the appearance of a pure-blooded member to the emergence of a Human Sacred Body 27.
• Demon Emperor Xue Yueqing rose from a snow hare demon to a True Dragon and ultimately became a Demon Emperor, demonstrating that demon cultivation can overcome an ordinary origin 262 595.
• The Demon Emperor Scripture is described as especially suitable for demon cultivators and may allow a bird- or beast-type demon such as Jin Ling to evolve toward a Kun Peng 262.

Eastern Wasteland factions

• Yan Ruyu openly represents the Demon Race, supported by forces connected to the Demon Emperor’s lineage 187.
• Her major supporters include the Peacock King, Crow Daoist, Azure Flood Dragon King, Red Dragon Daoist, Golden-Winged Old Roc King, Jin Ling, Golden-Winged Little Roc King, and Qin Yao 405.
• The Demon Emperor Hall maintains the Heavenly Demon Treasure Pavilion in Holy City, a massive structure fashioned from Purple Sun Stone and said to have been relocated from a Primordial Giant Race ruin 214.

Demonic States and Powers

Demonic aura

A demonic aura can arise from cultivation, emotion, or transformation rather than race. Jiang Ming repeatedly manifests such aura when his emotions surge, leading outside factions to fear that he suffers from madness or a hidden demonic inheritance 232.

• Demonic qi can amplify aggression and cold-bloodedness when Jiang Ming’s demonic nature takes the lead 249.
• His Demon Transformation manifests overwhelming demonic mist and twenty-four kneeling demonic shadows 544.
• His later Heavenly Demon Transformation can absorb and refine Ghost Saint-level blood demons as nourishment 557.

Divine-Demon Dao Diagram

The Divine-Demon Dao Diagram is Jiang Ming’s principal means of refining demonic and corpse-based entities into usable power.

• It can suppress blood demon ghost gods and purify the corrupted power surrounding the White Lotus in the Demon Well 557.
• It absorbs Yin Soldiers, Yin Generals, and Netherworld corpses for conversion into Divine-Demon Dao Soldiers 590 591.
• After absorbing one hundred thousand Netherworld soldiers and generals, it reaches the level of a Quasi-Emperor weapon 595.

Demon Lord Connection

Jiang Ming later awakens memories identifying him with the Demon Lord, one of the Four Souls of War Against Heaven. The awakening accompanies an eruption of black demonic flames and the appearance of the Generals’ Worship Platform 631.
