Xie Xie enters Dormitory 101 alongside Zhang Yangzi and Wang Jinxi. After learning that Fang Ming is a level-38 Soul Elder, he humorously proposes that Fang Ming become their dormitory boss; the other roommates agree 16.

He is placed in First-Year Class One with Fang Ming, Gu Yue, Zhang Yangzi, and Wang Jinxi. He chooses to sit near Fang Ming and reluctantly gives up his seat beside him when Fang Ming asks him to accommodate Gu Yue 17.
