Background / History

Ning Rongrong initially studies at Shrek Academy, but she never places its “Seven Monsters” unity above the interests of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. When she learns that Chen Ling—a sword martial soul master—overwhelmingly defeated Tang San, she immediately recognizes his value and secretly contacts her sect’s guardian to recruit him before Shrek can do so 5.

Using the guardian’s intelligence network, she locates Chen Ling in Suotuo City and approaches him with Zhu Zhuqing. She offers to pay for his meal, then discusses the Qingming Sword with him; her familiarity with sword theory comes from her association with Sword Douluo Chen Xin 6 7.

After Shrek attempts to force Chen Ling to apologize, surrender his self-created skill, and join the academy, Rongrong becomes disgusted with the group’s conduct. She distances herself from the confrontation and increasingly commits to Chen Ling’s side 7 8.
