Within Shrek Academy's Soul Tool Department.
A burly man, about 1.8 meters tall, with broad shoulders and a muscular build, listened to a woman complain beside him. His brow could not help but furrow.
The two were Fan Yu and Zhou Yi.
Fan Yu looked at Zhou Yi in utter disbelief and said,
"What are you talking about?"
"What do you mean, asking me to beg Vice-Dean Qian Duoduo to teach Lin Fan a lesson?"
Zhou Yi stood before him with her hands on her hips, irritation written across her face. Seeing Fan Yu's reaction, she let out a cold snort.
"Your wife was bullied, and you don't plan to stand up for her?"
Zhou Yi's tone was exceptionally aggressive as she said this.
"Fan Yu, are you even a man?"
Fan Yu's expression naturally darkened at that, especially when he saw the enormous trouble this woman had caused.
"Zhou Yi, do you know who you've offended?"
"Lin Fan defeated Dean Yan Shaozhe a month ago. You didn't know that, did you?"
Zhou Yi froze upon hearing that.
"Dean Yan... lost?"
She had clearly never considered such a possibility. Yan Shaozhe was the head of the Martial Soul Department in her eyes, a level ninety-five Super Douluo and a renowned powerhouse of many years. How could he possibly lose to a nineteen-year-old youth?
"Dean Yan didn't publicize this matter, since it wasn't exactly something honorable."
Fan Yu sighed. His tone eased somewhat, though it still carried a hint of helplessness.
"I heard it from Vice-Dean Qian Duoduo. Think about it—if even Dean Yan isn't Lin Fan's match, you want me to ask Vice-Dean Qian to vent your anger?"
Yan Shaozhe was stronger than Qian Duoduo. Besides, Qian Duoduo's Martial Soul was the Black Dragon Shield. He was a defense-type soul master and could not fight.
After hearing this, Zhou Yi fell silent for a while. Fan Yu continued, his tone now carrying a trace of complaint.
"Do you even know what rank of Soul Engineer Lin Fan is? Level nine."
"I'm still stuck at the Level-Eight Soul Engineer threshold. I've always wanted to find a chance to exchange knowledge with him about Soul Tool techniques."
"Though he's much younger than me, those who excel are teachers. But now? After the mess you made, that exchange is probably impossible."
Even after hearing Fan Yu's words, Zhou Yi still spoke unwillingly.
"Then... what about Mu En?"
Fan Yu immediately shook his head when he heard that.
"Don't get any ideas. Mu En won't involve himself in this matter."
Zhou Yi's expression immediately turned even uglier. She wanted to say something else, but Fan Yu directly cut her off.
"Take my advice. Behave yourself for a while, and stop expelling students all the time."
"You've expelled so many students. Do you know how much pressure that puts on me? When the forces behind those students come knocking, I can't stop them at all."
Zhou Yi could not help letting out a cold snort, her tone full of dissatisfaction.
"Those students refuse discipline. If I don't expel them, how am I supposed to maintain my dignity as a teacher?"
The more she spoke, the more agitated she became, as though she had finally found an outlet to vent through.
"And because of that bastard Lin Fan, the authority I worked so hard to establish as a teacher was utterly destroyed!"
"Do you know what kind of pressure I'm under?"
She glared at Fan Yu as though accusing him.
"You only know how to research your Soul Tools. Have you ever thought about how I live in the academy?"
After being berated by her, Fan Yu could not help feeling irritated. He rubbed his temples, took a deep breath, and then slowly said,
"Just restrain yourself from now on."
"Mu En is also planning to intervene in this matter. I heard he's already paying attention to it."
"If you continue expelling students so recklessly, then perhaps..."
"Perhaps you'll really lose your position as a teacher."
Zhou Yi fell silent upon hearing this.
A clear flicker of panic passed through her eyes. She knew full well that if she lost her identity as a teacher of Shrek Academy, the forces behind the students she had expelled would not let her off easily.
She had offended far too many people.
Seeing her like this, Fan Yu could not help sighing, and his tone softened somewhat.
"Train those children well. Even if you don't need to be so strict, you can still get along with them properly."
"Not every student needs to be expelled for you to establish authority."
Yet after hearing this, Zhou Yi suddenly became agitated. Her eyes carried anger and grievance.
"What do you know?!"
"You don't have to teach those people who act recklessly just because they have a little talent!"
"Do you know how difficult those students are to manage? Do you know how I..."
She suddenly stopped, as though she did not know what else to say. Then she abruptly turned around and coldly threw out a single sentence.
"Enough."
Then she left without looking back.
Meanwhile, Lin Fan had already finished testing his time ability. He had to admit, this ability was truly formidable.
Time reigned supreme, space ruled as king. What if he possessed both?
Lin Fan smiled at the thought. Still, powerful as the time ability was, it also consumed a great deal of his energy. With his current Soul Power reserves, he could use it at most fifty times a day.
Of course, Lin Fan was not in a hurry. As his control over the time ability grew more proficient in the future, both its frequency and effects could continue to improve.
Lin Fan slowly opened his eyes and lowered his gaze to his right palm.
The Spatial Martial Soul flowed with a faint glow in his palm. This was his Spatial Martial Soul, and Lin Fan knew that it was missing a part.
The reason he had remained trapped at level ninety-four and unable to break through was because of two flaws.
One was that the Spatial Martial Soul itself was incomplete. The other was that the Time Martial Soul had yet to awaken.
Now that the Time Martial Soul had successfully awakened, one of the two flaws had been resolved.
Fortunately, Lin Fan only needed to resolve one of those flaws to continue breaking through. Level ninety-four could no longer hold him back.
Even so, Lin Fan still intended to seek out the missing part of his Spatial Martial Soul. Up to now, he had never personally searched for that missing piece.
After all, increasing his strength was most important to Lin Fan. Although he possessed immense talent, he had not simply been directly infused with Soul Power all the way to level ninety-four. Furthermore, he still had Soul Tool techniques to learn, so naturally he did not have that much time.
At this moment, Lin Fan turned his thoughts back to Leng Yaozhu. Could he find the missing part of his Spatial Martial Soul through Leng Yaozhu? After all, Leng Yaozhu had traveled here from a world ten thousand years in the future.
Whether it was time or space, she was connected to both. Especially when he was with Leng Yaozhu, Lin Fan always felt as though someone were watching him.
