"Wow, a sneak attack really damages your dignity. It was certainly unexpected, but your punches weren't hard enough—or fast enough."
Roy, half-crouched on the ground, brushed the dust from his trousers and stood up in a fighting stance. But when he saw that Dia, who had lost her mind, had not drawn her wand, he frowned and slipped the dagger he had pulled out while backflipping away into the sheath at his waist.
"Hey, Professor! Don't do this. I don't want to hurt you!"
Roy's call was sincere, as though he hoped to awaken the last shred of conscience in the crazed Dia. However, the beautiful woman had now completely transformed into a beast. Her response was not words, but a swift pounce immediately afterward.
"Whaaa—"
Even Roy had not expected the delicate-looking Professor Dia to move so quickly. Half an office lay between them, yet Dia crossed that distance in less than a second.
"Fast enough, but still far too slow."
Without using magic, how could Dia possibly hurt Roy in hand-to-hand combat? Although she was already considered quick among ordinary people, to Roy, her speed was little different from slow motion.
Roy did not even need to use Phasing. Facing the unarmed Dia, he simply used Intercept, Transform, Release, smoothly blocking her pounce before sending her flying with a kick.
To avoid hurting her, Roy did not kick Dia into the wall. Instead, he sent her crashing into the sofa, giving her a soft landing.
Despite Roy's kindness, the crazed Dia showed no appreciation whatsoever. After flying backward and slamming into the sofa, she overturned the entire thing. Yet unharmed, she struggled only a few times before leaping back down from the soft sofa, snarling as she prepared to launch another attack on Roy.
