Background / History
Aisling is Gellert Grindelwald’s sister’s granddaughter, making Grindelwald her great-uncle. Although she does not use his surname and states that she has never met him, she is regarded as his last relative and the surviving branch of his family. Wolf and the remaining former supporters of Grindelwald’s Wizard Purist Party view her as an heir to his talents and legacy. 4 5 26
After Grindelwald’s defeat, Aisling’s supporters were hunted and repeatedly forced to relocate. They eventually accepted Dumbledore’s protection, with Aisling’s attendance at Hogwarts forming part of the arrangement. Before school, she lived in a hidden manor in Central Europe under Wolf’s protection. 5
Aisling’s childhood was shaped by the murder of her parents and infant sister during an attack by black-robed wizards at a French coastal hotel. She hid beneath a bed until Wizard Purist Party members arrived and killed the attackers. Though the organization’s conflict had indirectly endangered her family, its surviving members became her protectors afterward. 109
Her first magical awakening and prophecy occurred during an earlier visit to the French coast, when she saw a future version of herself standing beside a bay. Her father’s warning that there were “enemies” across the sea became inseparable from her later hatred of the American wizards she believed responsible for her family’s destruction. 109
She was seven at the time of her first magical awakening and nine when she witnessed her parents’ murder. Before losing her family, she lived in France and knew the Delacours; afterward, she grew up in Austria under the care of surviving Wizard Purist Party members. She also identifies herself as coming from a wealthy German family. 12 109 180 238
Aisling first noticed Roy Smee in Diagon Alley after seeing him in a fragment of prophecy. Disturbed by a vision of Roy defeating her in a dark forest, she ordered Wolf to investigate him and later resolved to investigate him personally rather than submit to fate. 4 5 9
Her family’s resources include a secret-numbered vault established by Grindelwald at Gringotts in London during his time in power. Aisling’s own interests in Gringotts later make her a substantive partner in Roy’s planned operation against the bank, rather than merely a friend assisting him. 310 316
Appearance
Aisling is a blonde, fair-skinned young witch with amber eyes and a delicate, coldly beautiful face. Her expensive clothing, refined mannerisms, and composed posture give her an aristocratic presence. 3 4 10
- Long golden-blonde hair, which she keeps carefully arranged. 50
- Amber eyes noted for their intense, probing gaze. 4
- Usually wears elegant, expensive robes and accessories. 3 38
- Maintains an upright, graceful posture even while flying. 43
- Her normally expressionless face can reveal panic, embarrassment, anger, or tears when Roy provokes her. 11 12 50
- Intensive post-American training leaves her taller, more toned, and nearly as tall as Roy. 152
- She wears elaborate formal gowns and expensive jewelry at public functions, including the banquet she hosts at Grindelwald Castle. 179
- Arrives at the Special Operations Office after Slytherin’s victory banquet wearing an elegant green evening gown and expensive high heels, with flushed features from drinking. 286
Personality
Aisling is reserved, proud, and intensely self-controlled. She speaks in a calm, detached manner, expects her orders to be obeyed, and refuses to depend on power that does not truly belong to her—demonstrated by her decision to abandon a wand modeled after the Elder Wand when it resisted her. 4
She is ambitious and highly competitive, particularly when Roy surpasses her in Transfiguration or Potions. Her rivalry can shake her confidence, but she responds by practicing harder and accepting guidance when necessary. 23 26
Despite her aloof reputation, Aisling is considerate toward students who genuinely need help. She assists nearby classmates in Transfiguration, shares food with Cedric and the Weasley twins, and later acts to halt Slytherin harassment of Hufflepuff students. 11 22 40
Aisling strongly rejects being defined by Grindelwald’s crimes or defeat. She sees prophecies as warnings rather than commands and is determined to overcome any future imposed on her. 9 26 39
The loss of her family left Aisling exceptionally alert to unfamiliar sounds and prone to fear when she senses an unseen threat. Her initial hatred of American wizards develops into a desire for revenge, driving her to use lethal magic during the American pursuit. 109 111 238
Following the American incident, Aisling becomes less rigid in private. While she continues to perform the role of a cold aristocratic heiress in public, she permits herself to be gluttonous, untidy, lazy, and openly sarcastic when alone at Grindelwald Castle. 152
Her experiences with Roy gradually make her more pragmatic and emotionally open. She remains sharp-tongued and competitive, but recognizes him as her only true friend and repeatedly acts to protect or support him. 102 152 166
The distinction between her public manners and private behavior becomes especially pronounced around Roy. She exchanges vulgar insults and physical blows with him, then immediately resumes a polite manner toward Snape. She also gradually abandons affected dining etiquette while enjoying a barbecue with Roy and his friends. 249 250
Her perfectionism persists despite their friendship. Watching Roy’s Ancient Magic produce superior potions even with imperfect incantations aggravates her, and she resists his medical assistance after injuring herself during ingredient preparation. His increasing magical strength continues to provoke anxiety about the widening gap between them. 273 297
Aisling is politically calculating and willing to entertain ruthless methods. Her upbringing among Wizard Purist Party survivors leaves her with some extreme political tendencies, and she proposes using Professor Jobana as leverage over a potentially connected Gringotts governor. During Operation Wallbreaker, she takes increasing pleasure in deception, disorder, and theatrical displays of power, unsettling Wolf through her resemblance to the young Grindelwald. 262 296 316 318
Although adept at aristocratic social performance, she finds empty gossip among wealthy pure-blood girls tedious and privately considers another fight with Roy more satisfying. Her generosity is often carefully calibrated to reinforce relationships and political ties, with Christmas gifts graded according to House affiliation, family importance, and personal closeness. 182 333
Her family’s loss remains emotionally significant after she abandons revenge. Roy’s reunion with Mia at Christmas leaves her aggrieved at the contrast between his restored family bond and her own bereavement, which she conceals behind a sarcastic imitation of Snape. 331
Abilities & Skills
Prophecy
Aisling inherited the Grindelwald family’s gift for prophecy. Her early visions arrive as incomplete fragments, often centering on Roy and a future in which he overpowers her. 5 9
- Can receive visions of future events and individuals. 5 9
- Uses the Prophecy Hookah to deliberately direct visions toward a chosen target. 39
- Witnessed visions of Roy unleashing golden magic and later stunning her. 39 40
- Her visions may be incomplete or misleading; Dumbledore warns that interpretation is crucial. 9 39
- The Hookah requires time to recharge after use. 40
- Used prophecy to learn from historical confrontations between Dumbledore and Grindelwald and recover lost applications of her family’s magical talents. 54
- Her prophecies can warn her of immediate danger, including the approach of the wizards pursuing her and Roy in America. 100 106
- After returning from America, she learned Occlumency and began rejecting unsolicited prophetic visions because repeated visions exhaust her mentally and have brought her harm. 224
- Roy’s Ancient Magic creates a “fog of war” that can obscure him from her prophetic sight. 54 224
- The Hookah also allows her to observe past events. Excessive use severely drains her mental strength, leading her to consume large quantities of Calming Draught supplied by Snape or purchased elsewhere. 53 54
- Learned to apply prophecy directly in duels, predicting attack and evasion routes well enough to gain a slight advantage in accuracy and dodging against Roy while he withheld his strongest abilities. 66
- Her prophetic gift remains active despite suppression. It can intrude during sleep when her Occlumency is weakest; upon waking, her restored mental defenses erase the visions, leaving her unaware that a frightening dream was prophetic. 333
Potions
Aisling is an advanced potion-maker for her age. Before entering Hogwarts, she successfully brewed an Energizing Potion, a potion normally taught in fifth year. 9
- Earned full marks from Snape for the Cure for Boils potion. 26
- Prepared ingredients with near-perfect precision and instructed nearby students during class. 25
- Receives private Potions instruction from Snape, beginning with the Pepperup Potion. 26 49
- Her complex potions can retain impurities because her magical output is not yet consistently stable. 26
- Competently administered healing, blood-stopping, and Dark Magic burn-treatment potions while caring for the severely injured Roy during their escape in America. 107
- Joins Roy’s supervised brewing work for the Love Protection Charm, emphasizing that the diamond required for his project is secured beneath her family’s castle and that they are undertaking it together. 250
- Continues brewing advanced potions under Snape’s supervision, though her progress remains markedly slower than Roy’s Ancient Magic-enhanced brewing despite identical ingredients and procedures. 273
Transfiguration
Aisling studies ahead and is particularly knowledgeable about advanced Transfiguration, including the difficulties of transfiguring animals into inanimate objects. 12
- Turned a matchstick into a silver needle on her first classroom attempt, earning Slytherin ten points. 22
- Later produced a steel needle with simple engravings after failing to replicate Roy’s far more advanced transformation. 23
- Helps other students with their Transfiguration work despite her distant demeanor. 22
- Received private Saturday instruction from McGonagall and progressed to the level of a Transfiguration specialist approaching graduation standard. 72
- Can recognize and apply sophisticated Transfiguration principles, including the magical circuitry and transformation triggers in Roy’s Auto Chess set. 72
- Reverted a magically disguised key into its gold-coin form with ease. 287
- Uses Transfiguration in operational deception, helping replace a Gringotts manager’s stolen possessions with a Transfigured stone. 316
- Her Duplication Charm does not reliably reproduce functional Muggle electronics: a copied voice recorder smokes and disintegrates when Roy attempts to play it. 302
Combat Magic
Aisling possesses unusually strong magical power and is capable of casting advanced defensive and offensive spells as a first-year. 16 29
- Her Knockback Jinx pushed Auror Elias Thorn back even after he blocked it with Protego. 29
- Can cast Protego, though Roy’s wandless Knockback Jinx overwhelmed her shield and knocked her down. 33
- Demonstrated enough power in the Slytherin common room to earn older students’ respect and fear. 16
- Her battlefield awareness, precise spellwork, and predictive fighting style closely resemble Grindelwald’s youthful combat style. 67
- Can cast Fiendfyre and combined it with Roy’s fire magic to create a destructive blue-black fire dragon during the Riverside Town battle. 69 106
- Used the Killing Curse against enemy transport wizards and later executed incapacitated pursuers during the American conflict. 101 111
- Demonstrated a textbook-perfect Disarming Charm, controlling its force precisely enough to disarm Professor Dia Jobana without striking her. 232
- Her post-American physical training improves her stamina, speed, and close-quarters capability, allowing her to pursue Roy through Hogwarts while barefoot and ultimately disarm him. 143 238
- Casts powerful offensive spells including Bombarda and Sectumsempra. Her use of the latter during the first-year championship duel alarms the professors and escalates her confrontation with Roy. 66
- Controls distinctive sky-blue Fiendfyre well enough to force Walter White to retreat, but its intense heat also affects her, requiring her to dispel it despite the flames themselves not harming her. 118
- Her trained physique and fighting skills exceed those of an ordinary person, although they remain below Roy’s. She can knock him down when he holds back and later leaves a sunken palm print in a conference table with a forceful strike. 182 301
- Uses a Silent Charm while guarding documents and casts a fully charged Reducto at a suspected intruder, only recognizing Roy after the spell has been released. 298
Light Magic and Occlumency
Dumbledore entrusted Aisling with a notebook of advanced Light magic and encouraged her to embrace justice and kindness rather than destructive power. 69
- Studies advanced Light magic from Dumbledore’s notebook. 69
- Learned Occlumency after the American incident, primarily to manage and reject unwanted prophetic visions. 224
- Her Occlumency suppresses prophetic memories upon waking, but does not completely prevent visions from reaching her during sleep. 333
Healing and Practical Magic
- Uses healing magic to ease bruises sustained during a physical fight with Roy before returning to her birthday banquet. 181 182
- Treats a cut to her finger with Roy’s Medical Gun while brewing under Snape; Snape subsequently checks the injury, warns her about Poison Bee Stinger venom, and gives her a recovery potion. 273
- Is proficient in household magic and efficient physical work, thoroughly cleaning and organizing the Special Operations Office. 298
- Is capable of Apparition by the time she and Roy investigate the Ministry conspiracy, though she accepts his offer to transport her. 297
- Learns nonmagical lock-picking from Roy and opens a gilded Gringotts office door with a hair clip before kicking it open. 320
Strategy, Leadership, and Political Skills
Aisling’s authority in Slytherin rests on both her personal power and her capacity to organize others. Even after her friendship with Roy becomes common knowledge, she maintains a public competitive stance because her followers’ pride makes open submission to him unacceptable. Snape and the upper-year students acknowledge her as the House’s leading figure. 70 236
- Employs a “weak against strong” Dueling League strategy, sacrificing unfavorable matches while conserving Slytherin’s strongest fighters for later rounds. 250
- Analyzes attacks for intelligence gains and political opportunities, helping Roy recognize that an unsuccessful theft and an exposed Gringotts connection may benefit their investigation. 262
- Recognizes the implications of Fudge’s secret financial arrangement with Tiago Brando and works with Roy toward action against Fudge’s position. 297
- Uses her aristocratic persona, financial promises, and staged behavior to manipulate a Gringotts manager into cooperating during Operation Wallbreaker. 316
- Coordinates with Wolf and Roy’s wider team through communication devices, maintains the operation despite disrupted signals, and uses feigned unconsciousness and hallucinogenic smoke to evade scrutiny. 316 318
- Manages relationships through carefully differentiated gifts, including especially valuable presents for important Slytherin families and trusted allies in other Houses. 333
Phasing Charm Studies
Aisling becomes intensely interested in Roy’s Phasing Charm after he demonstrates its effect on her, causing her to pass through a chair without pain. She demands instruction, but his initial explanations do not establish that she can perform it herself. 300 301
Roy later hides the charm’s principles and training instructions in the blank pages of her Operation Wallbreaker plan as a Christmas present. She discovers them shortly before returning to Hogwarts and resolves to learn the spell; successful independent casting is not established at that point. 333

Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Ebony wand — Fourteen and three-quarter inches, with a Hungarian Horntail dragon-heartstring core. It responded to Aisling with blue flames at Ollivander’s. 4
- Elder Wand replica — Her former elder-wood, Thestral-tail-hair wand, made by Gregorovitch. It retained some of the Elder Wand’s power but resisted her and caused spell backfires; she gave it to Ollivander. 4 Roy temporarily returns this former wand to her for protection during their flight across the American plains. 102
- Prophecy Hookah — A skull-shaped artifact formerly used by Grindelwald’s family to focus prophetic visions and anticipate opponents’ actions. Dumbledore entrusted it to Aisling. 39 40
- Dumbledore’s Light-magic notebook — A notebook containing advanced Light magic, given to Aisling after her victory as a match MVP. 69
- Communication Notebook paper — A torn enchanted sheet from Roy’s communication notebook, which she concealed on her person and used to send a blood-written distress message while kidnapped. 98
- Roy’s Elder Wand — Aisling later returned the Elder Wand to Roy while assisting his investigation into Mia’s attackers. 287
- Illusion-magic book — Borrowed from Roy after asking about the illusion he used to defeat her; she studies how to combine genuine spells with false images. 90
- Calming Draught — Consumed in large quantities to recover from the mental exhaustion caused by repeated prophetic viewing of historical battles. 53 54
- Black Eagle Dagger — Roy’s treasured knife, which she temporarily possesses and uses to pressure him into attending her banquet and participating in a duel. She can enchant its blade with blue flames. 169 186
- North Star — An ornate, sapphire-studded switchblade carried at her waist. She uses it to cut food and toys with it while discussing her partnership with Roy. 249 250
- Snape’s communicator — Used to summon help after she discovers Roy poisoned and paralyzed following the King’s Cross robbery. 223
- Medical Gun / Hormone Gun — A lightweight plastic healing device given to her by Roy. She later uses it to treat her injured finger during a brewing session. 255 273
- Operation Wallbreaker plan — Roy’s written operational plan, which she rereads over Christmas and discovers also contains his gift of Phasing Charm principles and training instructions. 333
- Gringotts manager’s cart remote and office key — Stolen with Wolf’s assistance during the heist and replaced with a Transfigured stone; the office key later enables their entry into Manager Lock’s office. 316 318
- Hallucinogenic smoke device — Released during Operation Wallbreaker to distract Goblins while she and Wolf slip away from their rescuers. 318
Relationships
- Gellert Grindelwald — Her great-uncle. Aisling inherited his family’s magical and prophetic gifts but insists that she is not him and will not share his fate. 4 5 26 Her exhilaration during Operation Wallbreaker nevertheless reminds Wolf of Grindelwald in his youth. 318
- Wolf — Her elderly protector, adviser, and former Grindelwald follower. He obeys Aisling’s orders, investigates Roy for her, and remains devoted to her safety. 4 5 9 He accompanies her into Gringotts and assists her deception, theft, and infiltration during Operation Wallbreaker, while remaining supportive despite momentary concern over her resemblance to Grindelwald. 316 318 320
- Albus Dumbledore — Protector and mentor figure. Dumbledore arranged protection for her family’s remnants, believes her innocence in the Slytherin conflict, gives her the Prophecy Hookah, and later entrusts her with advanced Light-magic notes. 5 39 69 Her increasingly forceful political questioning later makes him reconsider the implications of her early involvement in politics and her Wizard Purist Party upbringing. 296
- Roy Smee — Rival and recurring subject of her prophecies. Their relationship shifts from curiosity and brief friendship to resentment, mutual suspicion, reluctant protection, and unresolved emotional tension. 9 11 33 50 Their shared survival in America turns them into genuine friends and trusted partners, although they continue to conceal affection through bickering, rivalry, and insults. 102 123 152 166 She helps arrange his release from Ministry custody, offers him shelter after he loses access to the orphanage, and promises to support him through trauma, Mia’s illness, and his trial. 153 166 They later become operational partners in the Gringotts heist, and Roy gives her detailed Phasing Charm instruction as a concealed Christmas present. 310 316 333
- Severus Snape — Potions mentor. Snape recognizes her talent, explains the limits of her magical output, warns her about Roy, and provides private tutoring. 26 49 50 He supplies Calming Draught for her prophetic exhaustion, helps with Roy’s Ministry situation at her request, and closely supervises her advanced brewing. Her savage private banter with Roy surprises him, but his concern for her safety remains evident when she injures her hand. 53 153 250 273
- Minerva McGonagall — Transfiguration mentor and a maternal figure. McGonagall gives Aisling private advanced lessons, openly admits her affection and partiality, and encourages her to surpass Roy through effort. 72 She also insists that Roy is Aisling’s classmate rather than her enemy and encourages Aisling to form friendships instead of surrounding herself only with followers. 67 72
- Cedric Diggory — Academic peer who shares her interest in Transfiguration. They exchange ideas respectfully, and Cedric defends her character to wary Hufflepuffs. 12 17 23 He bears no grudge after she knocks him unconscious during the championship match and later participates in the wider Wallbreaker operation. Aisling marks their closer alliance by giving him a Nimbus 2000 for Christmas. 73 310 316 333
- Elliott — Slytherin Head Boy. Aisling orders him to stop further harassment of the Hufflepuff student involved in the recent house conflict. 40
- Marcus Flint — An attention-seeking Slytherin admirer whose boasting irritates Aisling. 26 43
- Elias Thorn — An Auror initially connected to the investigation of attacks against Aisling. He later confesses his involvement in the massacre of her family and dies after helping her obtain the medicine needed to save Roy. 98 122
- Walter White — Leader of the American wizards pursuing Aisling. She confronts him after resisting Roy’s plan to send her to safety and later fights his forces alongside Roy. 106 116 Her sky-blue Fiendfyre forces him to retreat during their direct confrontation. 118
- Pheobe Delacour — A childhood acquaintance from France and a close guest at Aisling’s banquet. Aisling is accustomed to Pheobe’s Veela-like effect on others and addresses her in fluent French. 180 Pheobe gives her cosmetics for her birthday, but Aisling refuses to discuss the American conflict with her. 180
- Molly Weasley — Aisling attempts to honor Molly with expensive gifts, but Molly rejects material obligation while warmly assuring Aisling that the Burrow can be her second home. 156 161
- Fred and George Weasley — Early recipients of Aisling’s expensive snacks and later guests at the Burrow. They are easily won over by her generosity and theatrically declare their loyalty to her. 11 156 Their later familiarity includes her teasing them over copied homework and their teasing her during Roy’s Christmas reunion with Mia. 225 331
- Ginny Weasley — A younger companion at the Burrow who enjoys Aisling’s company and admires her beauty. Aisling also gives her a valuable necklace after the Weasley parents agree to let their children accept the gifts. 161 164
- Tonks — An ally in the wider Wallbreaker operation. Aisling acknowledges their shared involvement by sending her a high-grade alchemical protective amulet for Christmas. 310 333
- Mia Saru — Roy’s sister, whose illness and later attack draw Aisling into protective preparations and investigation. Mia’s eventual affectionate reunion with Roy also highlights Aisling’s own unresolved grief over losing her family. 153 250 286 287 331
- Cornelius Fudge — A political opponent whose secret agreement with Tiago Brando gives Aisling and Roy an opening to move against his position as Minister for Magic. 297
- Tiago Brando — The new Gringotts governor, discovered privately negotiating Ministry support in exchange for financial assistance to Fudge. His role becomes part of Aisling and Roy’s investigation and the timing of their Gringotts operation. 297 318
Story Role / Major Arcs
Wand Selection and Roy’s Prophecy
Aisling replaces her resistant Elder Wand replica with an ebony, dragon-heartstring wand and gives the replica to Ollivander. Before leaving, she studies Roy intensely, having already seen him in a prophetic fragment. 4 5
Hogwarts Express and Sorting
She joins Roy, Cedric, Fred, and George on the Hogwarts Express, where she recognizes the exceptional sophistication of Roy’s rune-covered creations. After Roy mocks her claim that they were both “born with great power,” she breaks off contact with him. 11 12
The Sorting Hat considers several Houses suitable for Aisling, but she deliberately chooses Slytherin to pursue her ambitions. Her surname immediately draws attention throughout the Great Hall. 14
Academic Rivalry
Aisling quickly establishes herself as one of Slytherin’s most formidable first-years through her Transfiguration, Potions skill, and personal magical power. Roy’s superior displays repeatedly frustrate her, intensifying their rivalry. 16 22 23 26 29
Corridor Incident
After hearing that Avery Selwyn and Ronan Voss planned to attack Roy, Aisling rushes to the seventh floor and finds them badly injured. Roy suspects her of arranging the ambush and attacks her with wandless magic, seemingly fulfilling her prophecy. 33
Although Snape questions her, Aisling refuses to identify Roy as the attacker or accuse him of attacking her. 33
Dumbledore’s Mediation
Dumbledore believes Aisling’s denial that she organized the ambush and asks her to prevent the conflict between Slytherin and the other Houses from escalating. He gives her the Prophecy Hookah, allowing her to actively examine Roy’s future. 39
Following the vision, Aisling orders Elliott to prevent further Slytherin harassment, though she understands that the house’s hostility has not truly disappeared. 40
Potions Storeroom Incident
While arriving early for Snape’s private lesson, Aisling catches Roy stealing Potions ingredients. When Snape approaches, Roy restrains her in panic and begs her to protect him; she lies to Snape for a second time despite her anger. 49 50
Afterward, she refuses Roy’s offered ingredients and demands that he stop provoking Slytherin. Though she maintains a cold exterior, the encounter leaves her distracted during Snape’s lesson. 50
Mentorship and Slytherin Leadership
Aisling’s private tutoring expands beyond Snape when McGonagall begins teaching her advanced Transfiguration. Her rapid growth, refined manners, and willingness to help others overcome McGonagall’s initial prejudice toward her House and lineage. 72
Before their championship confrontation, she repeatedly studies historical battles between Dumbledore and Grindelwald through the Hookah. This substantially improves her spellcasting and predictive combat, although the strain requires frequent Calming Draught. 53 54 66
During the championship, Aisling eliminates Cedric and then fights Roy in a prolonged duel. She refuses to concede, escalates to Sectumsempra and Fiendfyre, and is ultimately defeated when Roy uses Ancient Magic illusions to distract her and moves behind her. The duel ends at seven minutes and one second. 65 66
After helping Slytherin secure a shared first-place championship result and serving as a match MVP, Aisling is celebrated by Dumbledore, Snape, and McGonagall. Dumbledore gives her a notebook of advanced Light magic, while her conduct at the subsequent celebration confirms her position as Slytherin’s acknowledged leader. She openly recognizes that none of her followers can defeat Roy individually and instead emphasizes collective strength and the House Cup standings. 69 70
Secret Alliance and the False Feud
When a hidden attacker attempts to frame Aisling for a Dark Magic assault, Roy privately tells her that he believes she is innocent. They agree to stage a public feud, allowing Roy and Cedric to spread accusations against her in hopes of exposing the true mastermind. 87
The ruse makes Aisling the target of renewed suspicion throughout Hogwarts. A disguised attacker later impersonates her to approach Roy, but Roy identifies the impostor because she does not understand the private reference “Jiahao.” 87 89
Aisling initially refuses Roy’s proposal when Cedric delivers it, insisting that Roy speak to her personally. Their subsequent private meetings restore their relationship even as they maintain the hostile public performance. Roy also lends her a book on illusion magic after she asks about the technique used in their championship duel. 86 90
Kidnapping and Escape to America
Aisling disappears while traveling to a secret meeting with Roy and is kidnapped by corrupt Aurors working with American anti-Dark Magic forces. Bound inside an expanded suitcase, she learns that she is to be transferred to America and sends Roy a blood-written message using enchanted communication paper. 97 98
Roy rescues her, and Aisling briefly abandons her usual reserve to thank him. When her prophetic senses warn that their enemies have returned, the two flee together into America and begin surviving as fugitives. 100 102
Recognizing that twenty-one enemies have surrounded Roy’s cabin and blocked Apparition, she persuades him to hide with her inside the suitcase rather than fight openly. After the kidnappers transport them to America, the pair ambush the six escort wizards and escape across the plains. 101
American Pursuit and the End of Her Revenge
During the American pursuit, Aisling fights beside Roy against corrupt Aurors and Walter White’s forces. She uses lethal curses, Fiendfyre, and her prophetic warnings to help them evade repeated ambushes, while also nursing Roy through severe injuries after their escape. 101 106 107
At the coast, Aisling reveals the murder of her family and her longstanding hatred of American wizards. Her desire for revenge reaches its height during the conflict, but concern for Roy gradually outweighs her hatred. 109 112
As her emotional strain worsens, she cries in Roy’s arms and repeatedly urges him to leave rather than continue risking his life for her. Roy instead secretly stuns her to keep her asleep while he guards their camp, then uses the Imperius Curse to force her evacuation. She later resists this imposed departure and stays to confront the pursuing forces. 112 116
After the battle, Aisling searches through the bodies for Roy despite exhaustion, fearing that she may only be able to recover his remains. 121 123
To obtain four life-saving potions for Roy, Aisling makes an Unbreakable Vow with Elias Thorn that prevents her from seeking revenge against the American Wizarding World. Elias subsequently confesses his role in her family’s massacre and dies, leaving Aisling to begin confronting a future no longer defined solely by vengeance. 122 123
Return, Training, and Grindelwald Castle
After returning from America, Aisling trains intensely to correct the physical shortcomings revealed by her experiences and to close the gap between herself and Roy. The training substantially improves her strength, stamina, and confidence. 143 152
At the end of the school year, she reunites warmly with Roy, smiles and laughs with him, and initiates a farewell hug. She offers him transport in her winged-horse carriage, but refuses to rescue him after he first rejects the offer and then misses the Hogwarts Express. 140
She also begins embracing a freer private life at Grindelwald Castle, though she continues to adopt a refined and intimidating public persona. When Roy is arrested by the British Ministry, she immediately travels to Britain with Wolf to assist him despite openly mocking his misfortune. 152
Aisling contacts Snape and helps arrange Roy’s release from custody. When Ministry Memory Charms prevent him from returning to his former life at the orphanage, she offers him accommodation at her Austrian home and frames her support as repayment for his earlier rescue of her. 153
At the Burrow, she later listens to Roy’s fears about the psychological and magical consequences of America and promises to stand beside him through his troubles. They agree to return to America together to investigate Elias Thorn’s estate without informing Dumbledore. 166
Banquet and Renewed Rivalry
Aisling hosts an international birthday banquet at Grindelwald Castle attended by students from Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons, demonstrating her social influence among young European magical elites. 179 180
She quietly arranges better-fitting formal clothes for Roy, but his accidental electrical interaction with Pheobe Delacour disrupts the celebration. Aisling subsequently fights Roy upstairs, heals her bruises, straightens her appearance, and resumes hosting. The encounter reassures her that her intensive physical training has produced tangible results, even though Roy remains stronger. 180 181 182
She continues to provoke Roy through duels and public teasing, including taking his Black Eagle Dagger to force a confrontation in the castle’s dueling arena. Their rivalry remains competitive but is increasingly a form of mutual recognition and connection. 179 186
Later Hogwarts Investigations
Aisling continues pursuing advanced study in the Slytherin common room, driven partly by anxiety over Roy’s rapidly growing strength and status. When Roy secretly infiltrates Slytherin’s artifact collection while investigating Voldemort-related objects, she pursues and disarms him after mistaking him for an intruder. 237 238
Earlier, during the King’s Cross robbery, she independently pursues one of the masked robbers. After losing him, she discovers Roy unconscious, poisoned, and paralyzed in a parking lot, checks his breathing, and contacts Snape for assistance. 223
Following the attack on Mia, Aisling assists Roy’s investigation by identifying the magical disguise on an ancient gold key and returning the Elder Wand to him. Though she continues to insult him, she urges him to be careful and offers practical support. 286 287
She initially waits for Roy in the Special Operations Office after attending Slytherin’s victory banquet. Intoxicated, she falls asleep during his briefing, but murmurs about the key before examining it properly the following day. 286 287
Dueling League and Protective Potion Work
During the new Dueling League, Aisling helps direct Slytherin’s strategy of withholding strong competitors and matching weaker students against formidable opponents. Although the first round favors Hufflepuff, Slytherin retains reserves for subsequent rounds. 250
She also joins Roy’s advanced brewing sessions for the Love Protection Charm under Snape, linking her involvement to the diamond secured in her family’s underground vault. Their crude banter and physical scuffling bewilder Snape, who is accustomed to her refined student persona. 225 250
Roy later gives her a Medical Gun. When she cuts her finger while preparing Poison Bee Stingers during brewing, she uses the device rather than accept his examination. Snape dismisses Roy, checks her hand, and provides a recovery potion. 255 273
Gringotts Crisis and Ministry Conspiracy
After another attack on Roy, Aisling helps analyze the evidence, including the compromised Floo connection, suspected Gringotts cooperation, and the fact that the stolen diamond was a decoy. Learning that senior London Gringotts officials have been massacred, she identifies the appointment of a new governor as an opportunity to trace the attackers. 262
Her political involvement becomes more confrontational when she challenges Dumbledore’s inaction, causing him to recognize the extreme tendencies inherited from her upbringing among Wizard Purist Party survivors. 296
While leaving the Ministry with Roy, she hides under his Disillusionment Charm and overhears Fudge’s secret meeting with Tiago Brando. Their agreement exchanges Ministry support for Brando’s control of Gringotts with financial assistance to the Ministry. Aisling recognizes the conspiracy’s significance, follows Roy when he investigates further, and receives his encouragement to prepare action against Fudge. 297
Operation Wallbreaker
Aisling participates in planning Roy’s Gringotts operation as a partner with her own interests in the bank. Her family’s former Wizard Purist Party members provide experienced support, while Cedric and Tonks take roles outside the direct operation inside Gringotts. 310
During preparation, Roy demonstrates the Phasing Charm on her. Fascinated by its ability to pass through solid objects, she demands to learn it, but his initial explanation leaves her frustrated. 300 301
Inside Gringotts, Aisling and Wolf visit the family’s secret vault before she pretends to have forgotten its key. She entices the manager with a prospective loan, exploits his fainting spell to steal his cart remote and office key, and later negotiates a 20,000-Galleon loan with a bearer promissory note. After disrupted communication with Cedric, Roy reassures her that the operation is proceeding normally. An explosion marks the transition from her theatrical negotiations to open chaos. 316
Aisling and Wolf then feign unconsciousness while being carried out of hallucinogenic smoke. She releases another smoke device as a distraction, slips into Manager Lock’s office with the stolen key, and searches his files while waiting for Brando to draw the Goblins underground. Her increasing delight in the operation reminds Wolf of the young Grindelwald. 318
She later opens a gilded office door using a hair clip and kicks it open, explaining to Wolf that Roy taught her the technique and that physical methods can sometimes work better than magic. 320
Christmas Gifts and Renewed Prophetic Intrusions
Roy’s Christmas reunion with Mia exposes Aisling’s lingering pain over her own lost family. She responds to the affectionate scene with Snape-like sarcasm while the Weasley twins tease her. 331
During the holiday, she maintains political relationships and sends carefully graded presents to her Hogwarts classmates. Cedric receives a Nimbus 2000 and Tonks a high-grade alchemical protective amulet in recognition of their shared involvement with her and Roy. 333
She also suffers a frightening prophetic dream without recognizing its cause. Her gift penetrates her weakened sleeping Occlumency, but the vision’s contents disappear when she wakes and her defenses reassert themselves. 333
After waiting unsuccessfully for an obvious present from Roy, Aisling rereads his Operation Wallbreaker plan shortly before returning to school. She discovers that he has hidden the Phasing Charm’s principles, training techniques, and a Christmas message in its blank pages, and resolves to learn it. 333
