After earning Hufflepuff quite a few more points through his good buddy Cedric, Roy turned his attention back to Aisling's Team, seated in the corner.
"Ready?"
"Tch, of course."
Aisling had been watching Roy's dodging patterns from the start. She knew he had a suit of Exoskeleton Armor that could boost his speed to terrifying levels. Although it let him perform all sorts of physics-defying maneuvers to dodge incoming spells, her observations told her that, as long as Roy didn't activate Exoskeleton Overload, blasting him off his feet would still be fairly easy for her.
"Just don't get shaky legs later. I bet you'd miss a bunch of shots even if I turned around and let you shoot me in the back."
Having finished his trash talk, Roy cleared the obstacles from the dueling area for them. Led by Aisling, the group drew their Wands in unison and aimed at Roy. At his signal, their prearranged web of spellfire instantly filled the entire arena.
"Stupefy! Petrificus Totalus! Impedimenta! Diffindo!!!"
The fight erupted in an instant. Her battle face on, Aisling swung her Wand like a whip, lashing crackling chains of spell-lightning at Roy as though she were whipping a spinning top.
For a while, Roy bounced around in the middle of the classroom like a monkey, the lightning shooting from Aisling's Wand keeping his feet off the ground. Yet, despite his sorry appearance, not one of the overlapping, multicolored spells landed squarely on him.
The plan Aisling had worked out with her teammates was for her to restrict Roy's movement while the other students fired spells at him. So far, she was doing an excellent job of controlling which way he dodged, but the other students' aim was honestly rather lousy.
