Golden Ancient Tree and Sea God’s Light

Mu En returns to Shrek using energy stored from the Golden Tree. His Light Sacred Dragon martial soul and Dragon Emperor Evil-Breaking Rend allow him to destroy Bibi Dong’s Blood-Sucking Spider Thorns and purify the toxins affecting Yan Shaozhe, Xuan Zi, and Qian Duoduo. 88

The Golden Ancient Tree subsequently bestows Sea God’s Light on Mu En, increasing his aura severalfold and transforming his Light Domain. The expanded domain covers nearly half of Shrek City, manifests numerous Light Sacred Dragon phantoms, and forms golden chains capable of restraining Bibi Dong while purifying and suppressing sinister and dark-attributed powers. Training and Assessment Methods

Zhou Yi’s Freshman Class

Zhou Yi introduces herself by declaring that she intends to cultivate “monsters,” not ordinary students, and threatens expulsion for those who fail her assessments. Her methods immediately trigger anger among prospective students in the Dragon King Era. 8

She later orders every student who has not fought since enrollment to run one hundred laps around Shrek Square within one hour, threatening to expel anyone who fails. 9

Long Yeyue later defends these activities as normal final examinations. Students from other academies, particularly Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineer Academy, object that an examination does not justify provoking their institutions or disregarding Federation law. Her response that those lacking strength must accept such treatment intensifies the backlash. 83

Reputation and Controversies

Student Conduct and Institutional Privilege

The Sky Screen prompts public accounts alleging that Shrek students have attacked civilians, injured bystanders with Battle Armor combat, and used the academy’s reputation to avoid consequences. 9

Qiangu Dongfeng exploits the scandal by arranging protests outside the academy, even ordering subordinates to fabricate victims if genuine ones cannot be found. 9

After Dai Huabin’s humiliation in the Advancement Assessment bet, he and Wu Feng arrange for their deathsworn to kill Ye Chen. Dai Huabin argues that their families’ connections to Shrek’s founders will protect them from institutional punishment. 69 70

When Bibi Dong confronts Shrek over the resulting attack, Xuan Zi refuses to accept responsibility despite her insistence that witnesses and physical evidence establish Dai Huabin and Wu Feng’s guilt. He instead accuses her of injuring a Shrek Core Disciple. His attempt to prevent Ye Chen and Di Qiu’er from leaving turns the dispute into a battle with the academy’s senior leadership. 83

“Cause Trouble” Culture

Flender publicly defends the idea that Soul Masters who do not dare to cause trouble are mediocre and says students need not be polite to people they dislike. His remarks intensify public condemnation of the academy. 9

Holy Spirit Cult Allegations

• Yan Shaozhe is revealed to be descended from Ye Xishui and Long Xiaoyao, two Rank 99 leaders of the Holy Spirit Cult. He is not himself identified as an Evil Soul Master, possesses only a light-attributed martial soul, and is unaware of his ancestry. 12
• Ma Xiaotao is said to later fall into the Holy Spirit Cult due to her uncontrolled Evil Fire Phoenix, become a saintess, and eventually become Master of the Sea God Pavilion after being rescued by Huo Yuhao. 16

Standards for Identifying Evil Soul Masters

During the confrontation with Bibi Dong, Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe identify her as an Evil Soul Master on the basis of her spider martial soul and accuse Ye Chen of colluding with her. Ye Chen, Qian Renxue, and Hu Liena challenge their authority and reasoning. 85

Ya Li explains that the Dragon King Era criterion concerns cultivation through plundering or devouring living beings, rather than merely possessing an evil-attributed martial soul. Flender recognizes Yu Xiaogang behind his concealed livestream identity and tells Zhao Wuji, who spreads the discovery among Shrek’s older teachers. Later, Dragon King Era leaders consult historical records after learning that the commentator may be founder Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang of the Golden Iron Triangle. 42 75

Revelations about Yu Xiaogang’s continued feelings for Bibi Dong prompt broader doubts about the accepted histories of Spirit Hall, Tang San, Shrek Academy, and the Tang Sect. Online commentators question whether the victors concealed wrongdoing and anticipate that Ye Chen’s planned visit to the Sun Moon Empire may reveal more. 77

Livestream Duels and Public Image

The Sky Screen’s Offline PK feature allows Shrek figures from different eras to turn livestream disputes into anonymous battles. Long Yeyue accepts Qian Gu Dieting’s challenge, while Flender and Zhao Wuji accept challenges from Zhuo Shi and Feng Wuyu, expecting to demonstrate their strength. 57
