Background / History
Xia Mi is the human-facing identity of Jormungandr, an ancient dragon monarch burdened by memories of innumerable human disguises and a past shaped by royal authority, death, and fate. Though she later longs for ordinary school life and companionship, she remains divided between “Xia Mi” and her dragon identity. 30 32 45
In Beijing, she lived in poverty with her mentally childlike older brother, Old Xia. Before elementary-school graduation, the siblings survived by collecting and selling recyclable scraps. Li Lin’s willingness to share his breakfast money with her despite his own orphanage upbringing became a defining memory. 5 32
During first grade, Li Lin’s Dragon-Slaying Binding System automatically bound him to Xia Mi as the highest-bloodline species nearby. Her progress thereafter was synchronized to him whenever he was inferior, turning their childhood competition into the source of Li Lin’s academic and physical growth. 1
After elementary school, Xia Mi and Li Lin were recruited into Cassel College’s preparatory class. She persistently challenged him in academics, games, and martial arts, hoping to make him acknowledge her superiority and become her follower. 2
Behind her familiar childhood-friend persona, Xia Mi initially viewed Li Lin as a potential weapon against awakening monarchs and rebellious ministers. She considered offering him “eternity,” but restrained herself to preserve the version of Xia Mi he knew. 2
Appearance
Xia Mi appears as a refined, youthful girl whose beauty is repeatedly described as striking even in an ordinary school uniform. Her delicate build disguises the force and durability behind her martial arts. 1 3
- Slender, pale, and apparently fragile despite exceptional physical strength. 3 26
- Long dark coffee-brown hair, sometimes pinned up with curled locks framing her face. 17
- Delicate hands without visible calluses or scars despite years of combat training. 26
- Golden Eyes that reveal her draconic nature when ignited. 17 41
Personality
Xia Mi is arrogant, boastful, sharp-tongued, and intensely competitive. She regularly calls herself a heroine or princess, mocks Li Lin without restraint, and frames her desire to command him as recruiting a personal lackey or retainer. 1 18 24
Her aggression is also her preferred language of intimacy. When upset, bored, jealous, or vulnerable, she tends to provoke Li Lin into sparring, pinch or strike him, or use teasing to avoid direct emotional honesty. 2 5 42
Despite being sociable on the surface, Xia Mi is fundamentally lonely and historically struggled to regard anyone as a genuine friend. Her protectiveness toward Old Xia and her growing attachment to Li Lin expose the compassion beneath her detachment. 5 32
Her affection for Li Lin conflicts with her ambitions. She wants him powerful, alive, and close to her, but also imagines guiding him into becoming a dragon retainer or even a Hybrid Monarch. 39 48
Abilities & Skills
Martial Arts Mastery
Xia Mi is a prodigious close-combat fighter who has trained across numerous boxing styles and continuously develops new techniques in battle. She deliberately keeps herself slightly ahead of Li Lin during their early sparring sessions. 2 3
- Combines Baji Quan and Wing Chun into her self-styled “Xia-style Baji Quan.” 3
- Uses techniques including Mountain-Leaning Strike, Inch Jin, Cross Jin, Bagua Palm, Eight Trigrams Palm, Northern Hung Fist, Emei Seven-Star Strike, and fusion combinations. 3 25 26

- Her technique remains dangerous even after Li Lin’s S-rank physical enhancement exceeds her public A-rank capabilities. 19 26
Word Spirit: Eye of the Wind King
Xia Mi possesses the high-risk Word Spirit Eye of the Wind King and demonstrates unusually fine control over it. 49
- Its exact effects and activation conditions have not been disclosed.
- Her control is considered sufficient for Angers to assign her as combat support on a high-level exchange mission. 49
Dragon Authority
Xia Mi can reveal overwhelming draconic majesty through her Golden Eyes. Her aura causes Shude Maiyi to mistake her for an awakened Second-Generation Species. 41
- Endures blows that would incapacitate ordinary hybrids. 25
- Conceals the bulk of her true power to preserve her human-student identity. 2 25
- Recognizes the monarch-exclusive principles behind Li Lin’s earth-element manipulation and is alarmed by his immediate aptitude. 18
Bloodline Research and Cultivation
Xia Mi possesses extensive knowledge of dragon bloodlines, alchemy, ancient languages, and Secret Party experimentation. 47 48
- Identified a damaged parchment fragment as part of the Dragon Blood Refinement Technique. 47
- Explained that “Blood Washing” can push Dragon Blood beyond the Critical Blood Limit by burning knowledge, reason, and humanity as fuel. 48
- Warns that reckless refinement can result in madness or transformation into a Dead Servant. 48

Story Role / Major Arcs
Cassel College Admission and 3E Exam
Xia Mi enters Cassel College alongside Li Lin after their preparatory-class combat records and bloodline potential earn them early admission. During the 3E Exam, she answers the eight standard questions and receives the expected A-rank result, while Li Lin’s abnormal Spirit Vision unsettles her. 4 17
Student Union and Martial Arts Club

Xia Mi treats the Day of Freedom as a personal contest rather than a factional battle. After helping the Student Union, she attacks her own allies, eliminates opponents with heavy weapons, and challenges Li Lin to determine the winner through martial arts. 25

War Practice and White King Intelligence
While accompanying Li Lin on an A-rank operation, Xia Mi privately obtains intelligence concerning the Ghosts and the possible revival of the White King. The threat makes her consider hiding with Li Lin in a Nibelungen, but she resolves that Jormungandr must investigate Japan instead. 41 42
Lionheart Archives and Blood Rage
Xia Mi enthusiastically joins Li Lin in researching the Lionheart Society’s restricted archives. She identifies the Dragon Blood Refinement Technique, encourages further study, and quietly hopes Li Lin’s pursuit of power will eventually allow her to make him her retainer. 46 47 48
After Li Lin reaches the first stage of Blood Rage, Xia Mi celebrates by preparing him a meal and leaves him a recorded message intended for a future in which she may disappear. 50
