New Jersey.
This time, Li Ang and the others had come to the seaside.
America's coastline was extremely vast. It had not only an East Coast but also a West Coast, and naturally, not every place was suitable for beaches.
So most areas were uninhabited.
Li Ang and the others found a place with particularly treacherous terrain. When they arrived, they could not even spot a birdman.
In fact, America's coastal regions were still relatively populous.
The central regions were even worse.
Many so-called towns had only a few hundred or a thousand people at most.
They were not even as populous as a village in the Eastern powerhouse.
Vast stretches of land were uninhabited.
"Kara, go for it!"
Li Ang cheered Kara on, while Harley Quinn beside him was also excited.
Harley Quinn grinned widely, her lips painted a blazing red, eager to see just how incredible Kara truly was.
Kara nodded, then closed her eyes.
She stood atop a massive rock by the sea, seemingly gathering herself.
Li Ang watched from the side. Even though her eyes were closed, he could see her eye sockets turning red and heating up.
This was way too terrifying!
"Ah!"
Then Kara opened her eyes. They were already completely crimson as powerful Heat Vision shot directly from them and struck the sea.
Boom!
The seawater instantly began to boil.
In an instant, vast amounts of seawater evaporated, and endless steam blanketed the shore. Even the ocean seemed to have been split in two by the Heat Vision.
Superman's Heat Vision could reach the temperature of the sun's core.
Kara was not that powerful yet, but her Heat Vision still reached temperatures of over a thousand degrees, enough to incinerate almost anything.
Li Ang watched enviously. When would he be able to get Heat Vision too?
Then he could imitate Homelander's "hot milk."
"Alright, learn how to control the temperature!"
Li Ang spoke up.
Kara's Heat Vision flickered, like a flashlight whose bulb had gone out.
Then, the glow of her Heat Vision immediately softened. It seemed Kara was really adjusting it.
What followed was a series of tireless attempts.
After trying several more times, Kara got the hang of it.
But she soon said, "Godfather, my eyes are a little dry. I don't want to keep trying."
Li Ang turned her little face toward him and took a look. Her eyes were somewhat red and swollen. Clearly, she had "overused her eyes."
Other people overused their eyes looking at computers and phones, but his goddaughter was playing with Heat Vision.
It looked fun. He wanted to play too!
"Then go do what you want to do."
Li Ang knew Kara could not wait any longer.
Since ancient times, people had dreamed of flying.
Now humanity could rely on tools, but as individuals, everyone still wanted to soar freely through the sky like birds.
Kara had that chance now, so naturally she wanted to try.
"Hehe."
Kara had been unable to wait for ages.
She crouched halfway down, clenched one fist, and struck a takeoff pose.
"What's she doing?"
Li Ang pulled Harley Quinn aside, and Harley Quinn immediately asked.
She had already gotten bored watching.
Kara's Heat Vision was astonishing, but it became boring after watching it for too long.
"You'll see."
Li Ang merely said that.
Kara was already familiar with the process. This time, she sprang straight into the air.
Moreover, she did not leave another massive crater in the ground. That meant she could control her strength well now.
A Kryptonian's talent truly was incredible.
Whoosh!
Kara shot up from the ground like a missile, instantly vanishing into the clouds.
When they saw her again, she was already above the ocean.
But this time, she did not fall straight down. Instead, she tried to control her body.
Kara's body swayed unsteadily for a while, but she eventually stabilized herself.
"Wow!"
Harley Quinn was completely stunned by the sight.
"Kara can fly!"
A little girl barely in her teens had flown right in front of her.
Even Harley Quinn, who had seen all sorts of things in Gotham, was amazed.
Was this still human?
It could only be said that since Gotham was Batman's hometown, most supervillains there did not excel through brute force.
This was where Gotham's excellent matchmaking system had to be mentioned.
With Kara settled in Gotham, it would be a dimensionality-reducing strike.
Harley Quinn was endlessly excited now, already imagining how she could run rampant through Gotham with Kara as her goddaughter.
Joker, Batman—Kara would knock them all flat!
"Darling, shall we go home and do it?"
Harley Quinn was practically addicted.
"Alright. Kara probably won't be stopping anytime soon."
Of course Kara would not stop.
She felt as though Earth's gravity had completely vanished for her. It could no longer restrain her flight, allowing her to go wherever she wanted.
She could fly above the clouds in an instant, or skim low over the sea.
And she was getting faster and faster.
The scenery around her flashed past at the speed of light, yet she could still catch every tiny detail.
On her first attempt at flying, she began circling the Earth.
Boom!
Her speed kept increasing, and the sound produced by her flight began to change.
At first, it sounded like the roar of a fighter jet. Later, it changed again, as though space itself were trembling.
Kara also felt herself growing faster and faster. She had long since surpassed the speed of sound.
But she was still not satisfied, crazily trying to break through her own limits.
If anyone had measured it, they would have found that her speed soon exceeded Mach 5.
Just then, Kara felt as though space itself had been torn apart.
Then, a silver-haired girl appeared before her.
Kara immediately stopped, watching the other girl warily.
Aside from her beautiful silver hair...
Everything else was hard to describe. She looked like a refugee, dressed in ragged clothes and covered in grime.
She appeared to be about Kara's height, though she was thinner than Kara.
By modern standards, she was somewhat malnourished.
"Who are you?"
Kara descended from the sky.
She looked around. This was a forest, and she had no idea where she had flown to.
The silver-haired girl stared in shock as Kara flew down from the sky.
But she adapted quickly, assuming Kara was a sorceress.
However, the moment Kara spoke, she was confused.
She had never heard this language before.
"I am Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, Princess of Cintra. Are you a sorceress?"
The silver-haired girl rattled off a long sentence, and Kara's eyes widened.
What language was that?
But Kara was no ordinary person. She was a Kryptonian girl with a Super-Brain.
After hearing that one sentence and taking only a few seconds, she had completely mastered the silver-haired girl's language.
"Cirilla? Cintra? I've never heard of them, and I'm not a sorceress."
Kara replied directly in her language, "I am Kara Zor-El. I don't know where the place you mentioned is, but I imagine it isn't on Earth."
"Earth?"
Ciri was indeed confused, her doubtful eyes wide.
"Just as I thought, you aren't from Earth. You must have traveled through time and space."
Kara thought of the rift from earlier. It had only appeared for a moment, and now it was gone.
This was going to be difficult.
