Background / History

After the Primordial World first opened, the Heavenly Dao was still incomplete. Ordinary innate deities were protected during transformation, but Li Qingxiao’s transformation from the World-Cleansing White Lotus was judged an anomaly that seized heaven-and-earth fortune. It answered with the Ninety-Nine Heavenly Violet Lightning, intending to obstruct him; the White Lotus purified all ninety-nine bolts into nourishment instead. 1

At Purple Heaven Palace, the Heavenly Dao intervened when Zhunti attempted to surrender the sixth Purple-Gold Futon to Jieyin. Its pressure sealed the hall, locked the six seated cultivators into their futons, and fixed the arrangement of Laozi, Yuanshi, Tongtian, Nuwa, Hong Yun, and Zhunti. 10 11

Hongjun recognizes Li Qingxiao as the variable responsible for altering the predetermined seating arrangement. However, the World-Cleansing White Lotus conceals Li’s fate so thoroughly that even the Heavenly Dao cannot fully see through him. The altered greater trend is not simply discarded; it is to be repaired through later adjustments, including compensation for the karmic debt owed to the West. 11

To restore order after the Dragon-Han Great Tribulation, the Heavenly Dao establishes the positions of Chief of the Male Immortals and Chief of the Female Immortals, appointing Dong Wang Gong and the Queen Mother of the West through Hongjun’s decree. 13 14

When Li Qingxiao purifies the Creation-Turbidity Fiendish Qi within the Twelve Ancestral Witches and Mount Buzhou’s earth veins, the Heavenly Dao bestows immense merit. Li channels the reward into the Twelfth-Grade Purifying White Lotus. 19

The Heavenly Dao also recognizes Di Jun and Taiyi’s founding of the Yao, granting the new race fortune and an official place in the Primordial World’s larger destiny. 30
