Taiyi is proud, aggressive, and highly conscious of his status as a Solar Star divine being. He routinely attempts to resolve disputes through overwhelming force, whether overtaking the Twelve Ancestral Witches in Chaos, demanding Purple Heaven Palace seats, or trying to monopolize the gourd vine’s treasures. 5 8 22

His arrogance is tempered by tactical caution when faced with an opponent of unclear strength. He abandons his attempt to seize Hong Yun and Kunpeng’s seats after suspecting that Li Qingxiao may intervene, and Di Jun repeatedly restrains him from provoking Li without certainty of victory. 8 21

Story Role / Major Arcs

Journey to Purple Heaven Palace

Taiyi and Di Jun cross the Chaos using the Chaos Bell and the River Chart and Luo Writing. Taiyi attacks the Twelve Ancestral Witches to overtake them, provoking Zhurong and Gonggong; the resulting clash sends a spatial rift toward Houtu. 5 6

At Purple Heaven Palace, Taiyi fails to obtain one of the six Purple-Gold Futons when Kunpeng claims the final seat first. He later attempts to force Hong Yun and Kunpeng to surrender their seats to Di Jun, but retreats after becoming wary of Li Qingxiao’s silent presence behind them. 7 8

Rise of the Solar Palace

After Hongjun appoints Dong Wang Gong rather than the Yao leadership as Chief of the Male Immortals, Taiyi and Di Jun leave Purple Heaven Palace determined to unite the myriad races and establish the Yao’s power independently. 14

During the emergence of the innate gourd vine, Taiyi attempts to seize all seven gourds with the Chaos Bell. Laozi prevents him from monopolizing the treasures, but Taiyi still forcibly claims the golden gourd. 22

Fall of the Immortal Court

Taiyi helps lead the Solar Palace’s assault on Zifu Continent. With peak Daluo cultivation, he uses the Chaos Bell to shatter the Immortal Court’s grand formation and open the way for the Solar Palace army. 26

When Dong Wang Gong makes a final attack by burning his Daluo Dao Fruit, Taiyi manifests his Golden Crow form and destroys the Dragon-Headed Cane’s nine Pure Yang dragons with the Chaos Bell. He then kills Dong Wang Gong’s physical body, but loses the masterless Dragon-Headed Cane to Li Qingxiao before he can claim it. 29
