About an hour later, the Pokédex began to vibrate.
Xinhai picked it up and saw a message from the Pokémon Center: "Mr. Bai Mu, your Pokémon have completed their restorative treatment. You can pick them up at the front desk."
He slipped the Pokédex into his pocket, stood up, and glanced at Eevee, who was sleeping soundly on the sofa. Without waking it, he quietly left the room.
The elevator stopped on the first floor. Xinhai stepped out and went to the front desk.
When Nurse Joy saw him, she confirmed his identity, then smiled and took a silver tray from beneath the counter.
Ten Poké Balls were neatly arranged on the tray. Each one had been wiped spotless, gleaming with a warm luster beneath the lights.
"All the Pokémon have completed their restorative treatment, and they're all in excellent condition." Nurse Joy gently placed the tray on the counter and spoke softly to Xinhai.
"Thank you, Nurse Joy." Xinhai clipped the Poké Balls back onto his belt one by one, his movements practiced and efficient.
"You're welcome. It's my duty." Nurse Joy gave a slight bow. "Also, I hope you enjoy your time on Azure Wave Island."
Xinhai smiled and nodded at that before turning toward the elevator.
When he returned to the room, Eevee was still curled up sound asleep on the sofa. Without disturbing it, Xinhai carefully picked up the fluffy little bundle, carried it to the bedroom, and placed it on the bed before tucking it in with a small blanket.
Eevee turned over in its sleep. Its fluffy tail slipped out from beneath the blanket and rested on the pillow, while a faint purr rumbled in its throat.
Back in the living room, Xinhai released his other companions one after another with Gardevoir's assistance.
