Background / History

Dragon had already left the Marines and begun recruiting companions for a revolutionary movement when he encountered Ye Tong in Foosha Village. Having secretly observed Ye Tong’s ties to Luffy, Garp, and the Red-Hair Pirates—as well as his enthusiasm for scavenging—Dragon approached him and offered to guide him to Mount Colubo. 7

On Mount Colubo, Dragon initially assumed Ye Tong wished to join the Revolutionary Army. Ye Tong instead dismissed the organization as “third-rate” and challenged Dragon’s understanding of poverty, hunger, and the suffering of ordinary people. Dragon abandoned his earlier confidence and chose to listen. 8

Dragon openly described his plan to recruit allies and build a powerful force. When Ye Tong questioned whether revolution would exploit vulnerable countries, create chaos, and merely replace one ruling class with another, Dragon admitted that such outcomes were possible. 9
