The lightning sphere exploded in midair, transforming into countless massive golden bolts as thick as water barrels. They wove into a dense web of lightning and bombarded Adams below with frenzied force. The entire forest was bathed in gold, while the air warped from the intense heat and crackled with explosive pops.

Monet held her breath and looked anxiously toward the center of the lightning barrage. She was not sure whether Lord Adams could fully withstand that attack.

The blinding electric light persisted for several whole minutes before gradually fading.

In its place was a charred crater several meters across. The ground within and around it had been melted and crystallized by the high temperature, with wisps of smoke rising from it. Adams stood at the center of the crater.

Large areas of his exposed skin had been blackened by electricity, making him look as though he had just crawled out of a fire. He resembled a scorched statue.

"Lord Adams!" Monet cried out instinctively, her heart nearly leaping from her chest. Boundless guilt and panic instantly overwhelmed her.

She transformed into a streak of lightning and shot out from where she stood at the fastest speed of her life. In an instant, she appeared at the edge of the scorched crater, immediately condensed back into human form, and jumped down without hesitation. She rushed to Adams's side, tears already welling in her eyes.
