Adams had just returned to the palace and had not even had time to sit down when a clear, calm female voice suddenly rang in his mind. It was a message from Monet:
"Captain, Dr. Vegapunk's artificial soldier project has encountered a bottleneck with key materials. The existing materials cannot meet the design requirements. The doctor hopes you can come over so you can discuss a solution together."
Adams was not surprised by this method of communication, with a voice directly sounding in his mind.
This was Monet's latest breakthrough in developing her Rumble-Rumble Fruit abilities. She could convert messages into special bioelectric waves and project them directly into a designated target's mind, enabling almost delay-free long-distance communication. It was exceptionally efficient and convenient.
Upon receiving the message, Adams did not delay in the slightest and immediately headed for the research institute on Giant Turtle Floating Island.
The institute was filled with all manner of precision instruments and creations of futuristic technology.
Vegapunk was busy at the main control console, while Monet stood quietly at his side, ready to record instructions at any time. Ginny and Big Bear were also present, seemingly helping organize some data.
Adams briefly greeted the others before looking at Vegapunk.
"None of our stockpiled materials can meet the requirements?"
Vegapunk nodded, his tone carrying the rigor unique to a researcher.
"Yes. The existing metallic and nonmetallic materials fall short of the ideal parameters in my design blueprints, whether in strength, toughness, energy conductivity, or malleability.
"The soldiers made from these materials would have their combat potential severely limited and would be unable to achieve their theoretical maximum performance."
As expected... in the end, it still came down to that fruit.
Adams thought to himself. He had long suspected as much. Pretending to ponder the matter,
