Overview

The Pill Tower is one of the Central Plains’ dominant powers, recognized as the “One Tower” in the regional designation of One Hall, One Tower, Two Sects, Three Valleys, and Four Pavilions. It gathers exceptional alchemists from across the continent and derives much of its strength from its extensive network of relationships, resources, and hidden experts 3.

Though not an Ancient Emperor Clan, its top-tier combat power, connections, and alchemical resources are described as comparable to those of the Ancient Eight Clans. Its influence in alchemy is stated to be only slightly below that of the Yao Clan 3.

Territory and Facilities

Pill Saint City

Pill Saint City is the Pill Tower’s vast alchemical metropolis in the Central Plains.

  • Built from Ten-Thousand-Year Mystic Jade and stretches for hundreds of miles 3.
  • Its walls bear ancient alchemical patterns that emit a blue-violet medicinal glow 3.
  • Numerous spatial wormholes connect it to visitors from throughout the continent 3.
  • Pill cauldrons are widespread throughout the city, while pill lightning periodically descends during alchemical refinement 3.
  • Entry through its spatial wormholes requires a transmission fee of 30,000 Magic Crystals or Dou Qi Crystals 3.

Pill Territory

Pill Territory is the Pill Tower’s independent space and the location of its central institutions.

  • Its central tower has nine levels and contains one million pill formulas 5.
  • Thousand-mile Medicinal Jade steps lead toward the Little Pill Tower, bordered by dense spiritual-herb gardens 5.
  • Golden patterns on the main tower carry accumulated alchemical heritage and medicinal power that nourishes the soul and vital energy 5.
  • Pill-refining pavilions fill the surrounding mountains and forests 5.
  • The space was badly damaged by Qing Luo’s battles and self-destruction; less than one-tenth reportedly remained intact afterward, though it can gradually regenerate while Mu Tong remains alive 13.

Star Region

The Star Region was a starry independent space above the Pill Tower used to imprison the Three Thousand Burning Flame.

  • It was sustained by a starry illusion created by Pill Territory experts 4.
  • The flame was restrained by the Nine-Star Locking Flame Formation 7.
  • Qing Luo’s confrontation with Old Monster Lin shattered the barrier separating the Star Region from Pill Territory, merged the two spaces, and destroyed the sealing formation 7.
  • Mu Tong later recovered the Three Thousand Burning Flame’s origin from the ruined overlapping space 13.
  • Mu Tong subsequently gave the flame to Qing Luo in exchange for his promise concerning the Emperor-Grade Young Pill 22.

Strength and Resources

  • The Pill Tower’s outer guards include Dou Zong experts; Dou Emperors and Dou Zongs are portrayed as common within its wider organization 3.
  • It possesses multiple Saint-level experts, with accounts placing the number at four or five alongside its Yao Clan backing 11.
  • Mu Tong’s cultivation, status as a Ninth-Rank Profound Pill, and alchemical ability form the Pill Tower’s greatest known foundation 11 16.
  • Its broad alchemist network gives it influence across the Central Plains beyond its direct military power 3.
  • It supplies high-grade medicinal pills to allied forces, including the Stone Clan 22.
  • Its independent territory can slowly restore itself after physical devastation because it is sustained by Mu Tong’s Six-Star Dou Saint power 13.

History

Qing Luo selected the Pill Tower as his first prospective ally after escaping the Demon Flame Space, judging its strength, resources, and influence sufficient to rival an Emperor Clan 2 3.

His arrival immediately became hostile after he refused to pay Pill Saint City’s wormhole fee and was denied an audience with the Three Giants. Qing Luo destroyed the guard Zhou Mu’s cultivation and soul, then threatened Pill Territory with the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame 3. The Three Giants eventually met him, settled his unpaid fee, and learned that he sought cooperation with the Pill Tower Ancestor over the fate of the Central Plains and the path to Emperorhood 4.

Relations deteriorated when Qing Luo attempted to seize the Three Thousand Burning Flame from the Star Region. His intrusion drew out Old Monster Lin, whose attempt to seize and refine Qing Luo transformed a failed negotiation into open conflict 6 7. Their battle wrecked the Star Region and destroyed three levels of the main tower; Qing Luo later returned, killed Old Monster Lin, and clashed with Nihility Devouring Flame in Pill Territory 8 10 11.

Qing Luo’s self-destruction against Nihility Devouring Flame devastated most of Pill Territory but deliberately directed its primary force away from the Pill Tower. Mu Tong preserved the survivors, sealed the territory for repairs, and recovered the Three Thousand Burning Flame’s origin 12 13.

After receiving Qing Luo’s secret message, Mu Tong met him at the Demon Flame Plains. Qing Luo persuaded him that the Hall of Souls and Soul Clan would eventually threaten the Pill Tower, while the Dou Di Cave Mansion offered a chance at Emperorhood. Mu Tong accepted a trial partnership, and the pair founded the Emperor Alliance 14 15 16.

Emperor Alliance

The Pill Tower became the Emperor Alliance’s first institutional foundation after Mu Tong agreed to cooperate with Qing Luo 16.

  • Alliance role — Provides alchemical resources, political influence, Saint-level strength, and a continent-wide network of connections 3 16.
  • Stone Clan agreement — Stone Clan members reinforce the Pill Tower against Hall of Souls infiltration, while the Pill Tower provides high-grade pills to strengthen the clan 22.
  • Teleportation networkQing Luo supplied methods from the Purifying Demon Saint’s inheritance to link Pill Territory and the Stone Realm through teleportation arrays for reinforcement or retreat 22.
  • Recruitment effortsMu Tong successfully recruited Sound Valley, while the Flower Sect refused for the time being; Burning Flame Valley was considered as a potential ally 31.
  • Public strategyQing Luo later instructed Mu Tong to portray the Pill Tower and Stone Clan as allied against him, concealing the Emperor Alliance’s true purpose from the Soul and Gu Clans 32.

Relationships

  • Qing Luo — Began as a hostile would-be ally whose actions devastated Pill Territory and killed Old Monster Lin; later became the Pill Tower’s Emperor Alliance leader and strategic partner 3 13 16.
  • Mu Tong / Dan Xuan — Pill Tower Ancestor and Qing Luo’s principal counterpart in the alliance; provides the organization’s Six-Star Dou Saint backing and alchemical influence 15 16.
  • Xuan Kongzi — One of the Three Giants; first negotiated with Qing Luo, guided him through Pill Territory, and later managed repairs under Mu Tong’s orders 4 5 13.
  • Tianleizi — One of the Three Giants; attempted to contain the Three Thousand Burning Flame’s riot and defend the Star Region, but was unable to stop Qing Luo 4 6.
  • Xuanyi — One of the Three Giants; opposed Qing Luo’s attempt to take the Three Thousand Burning Flame and later helped oversee Pill Territory’s aftermath 6 13.
  • Old Monster Lin — Former Great Elder whose attempt to refine Qing Luo triggered the Pill Tower’s catastrophic conflict with him; killed by Qing Luo 8 11.
  • Cao Ying — Xuan Kongzi’s disciple, whom Qing Luo unilaterally named his fiancée as a proposed marriage alliance with the Pill Tower 5 13.
  • Stone Clan — Emperor Alliance partner; exchanges military reinforcement for Pill Tower medicinal support 21 22.
  • Hall of Souls — A looming enemy whose capture of alchemists and Soul Clan support were key reasons Mu Tong accepted Qing Luo’s cooperation proposal 15.
