Background

The Xiao Clan was once one of the Ancient Eight Great Emperor Clans and was described as the strongest family on the Dou Qi Continent. Although its Emperor Blood still flows through its descendants, the clan declined until it became a minor Wutan City family whose strongest members were only Da Dou Shi-level cultivators. 35

Before the family's relocation, Xiao Zhan led the clan alongside three Da Dou Shi elders. The family lacked the cultivation methods, wealth, and other resources necessary to reverse its long decline. 33 38

History

Decline in Wutan City

At the beginning of the Jiama Empire incident, the Xiao Family was regarded as an insignificant local clan. Its standing was low enough that the Misty Cloud Sect arrived intending to address Nalan Yanran's engagement to Xiao Yan from a position of clear superiority. 33

Qing Luo, Mo Tian Xing, and Zi Yan interrupted the meeting through spatial travel. Qing Luo revealed the family's ancient identity and invited it to join the Emperor Alliance, while Mo Tian Xing named the alliance's far stronger constituent powers. 34 35

Conflict over Gu Xun'er

Qing Luo exposed Xun'er as the Gu Clan's imperial daughter and claimed that the Gu Clan had placed her within the Xiao Family to locate its Tou She Ancient God Jade. Xun'er denied intending to take the jade, but Xiao Yan's possession of it was publicly revealed, creating distrust within the family. 35 36

After Ling Ying was killed attempting to extract Xun'er and Xiao Yan, Qing Luo subdued Xun'er rather than kill her. He later ordered the Xiao Family to guard her and not release her without authorization, making her both a hostage and leverage against the Gu Clan. 36 38

Joining the Emperor Alliance

Qing Luo spatially transferred the entire Xiao Family and its residence from Wutan City into the Life-and-Death Gate. The relocation left only a massive pit at the former Xiao residence and prevented the Gu Clan from immediately locating the family. 37 40

Xiao Zhan accepted the Emperor Alliance's terms after Qing Luo offered the family resources and a chance to restore its strength. The agreement gives the Xiao Family three years to become comparable to a Central Plains faction; otherwise, it will be excluded from the continent's final war. 37 38

Xiao Yan's Recovery

Qing Luo discovered that Xiao Yan's black thumb ring housed the weakened remnant soul of Yao Chen, which had absorbed Xiao Yan's Dou Qi for three years. Once Qing Luo removed the ring, Xiao Yan could cultivate again. 42

Qing Luo returned the ring after directing Yao Chen to mentor Xiao Yan. This earned Xiao Yan's trust and strengthened the Xiao Family's confidence in Qing Luo's support. 44 45
