Personality

Mu Tong is calm, authoritative, and difficult to rattle. After Qing Luo’s self-destruction devastates Pill Territory, he focuses on sealing the realm, beginning repairs, and recovering the Three Thousand Burning Flame rather than reacting emotionally. 13

He is also cautious and pragmatic. Mu Tong repeatedly challenges Qing Luo’s claims about the Heaven Refining Ancient Formation and Emperorhood, but accepts cooperation once Qing Luo offers both a credible threat assessment of the Soul Clan and access to the Dou God Cave Mansion’s opportunity. 14 15

His partnership with Qing Luo remains wary. Mu Tong recognizes that Qing Luo selectively reveals information and may have manipulated their meeting, yet continues the alliance because Qing Luo’s knowledge and plans offer protection against the Soul Clan. 17

Background / History

Mu Tong arrives at Pill Territory after Qing Luo kills Old Monster Lin. He identifies Qing Luo as an incomplete incarnation of the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame and senses a dangerous, unusual power within him. 11

Following Qing Luo’s self-destruction against Nihility Devouring Flame, Mu Tong manages the aftermath: he confirms Old Monster Lin’s death, orders Pill Territory sealed for repairs, and secures the origin of the Three Thousand Burning Flame. He then discovers Qing Luo’s message—“Cooperation”—and chooses to investigate its coordinates personally. 13

At the Demon Flame Plains, Mu Tong witnesses the Heaven Refining Ancient Formation and recognizes that it could trap or kill even a Nine-Star Dou Saint. Qing Luo explains that he did not break the formation, but instead exploits a flaw to release portions of his origin temporarily. 14

Qing Luo persuades Mu Tong to cooperate by revealing the threat posed by the Soul Clan, the history of Tou She Ancient God, and the existence of an Emperor-Grade Young Pill within the Dou God Cave Mansion. Mu Tong agrees to a trial partnership, which becomes the foundation of the Emperor Alliance. 15 16

Pill Territory Incident

Mu Tong returns to Pill Territory after Qing Luo’s conflict with Old Monster Lin and Nihility Devouring Flame. He preserves order after the destruction, hears Xuan Kongzi’s report, questions Cao Ying about her supposed engagement to Qing Luo, and recovers the Three Thousand Burning Flame’s origin. 13

Formation of the Emperor Alliance

Mu Tong meets Qing Luo at the Demon Flame Plains, learns the limits of Qing Luo’s origin-splitting method, and agrees to cooperate after hearing Qing Luo’s proposal concerning the Soul Clan and Emperorhood. The two name their partnership the Emperor Alliance. 14 15 16

Spirit Realm Expedition

Mu Tong opens the sealed Spirit Realm at Qing Luo’s request. Inside, he discovers that the Spirit Clan was annihilated by the Soul Clan for its Tou She Ancient God Jade, deepening his understanding of the threat facing the Emperor Clans. 16 17

Stone Clan Recruitment

Using the name Dan Xuan, Mu Tong accompanies Qing Luo to the Stone Clan and presents the Emperor Alliance’s proposal. He is initially unsettled by Qing Luo’s provocative methods, but witnesses the Stone Clan ultimately join after learning of the Soul Clan’s destruction of the Spirit Clan and its inherited devouring power. 17 19 21

Alliance Consolidation

Mu Tong helps establish practical cooperation between the Stone Clan and Pill Tower: Stone Clan members reinforce the Pill Tower against the Hall of Souls, while the Pill Tower provides high-grade pills. He also gives Qing Luo the Three Thousand Burning Flame in exchange for a promised Emperor-Grade Young Pill. 22
