The Looting Emperor sat atop the head of the Evil Beast transformed from the Black Demon Fish, looking down upon the battlefield like an emperor. His gaze was utterly calm, as though all the slaughter had nothing to do with him.
Suddenly, he sensed an unusual gaze resting upon him, so he glanced toward its source.
"Why him?"
The Looting Emperor frowned slightly. What made that gaze "unusual" was mainly that it contained no malice.
On the battlefield, whenever any player looked at him, their gaze inevitably carried malice—desires to kill him, greed to obtain something from him. There were almost no exceptions.
In such an environment, a gaze without malice was far too conspicuous.
It was practically like fireworks in the dead of night—impossible not to notice.
But the Looting Emperor could not understand why it had to be Hawkins.
By all rights, Hawkins should have held the deepest malice toward him. After all, these players were all Hawkins's subordinates. How could the subordinates harbor profound hostility toward him while their leader did not hate him at all?
