Background
Su Chen is a transmigrator who received the God-level Affix Disciple-Recruiting System. The system evaluates prospective disciples through nine Trait Entries; an applicant must possess at least three Supreme-Grade entries to meet Immortal Mountain’s standard. Every successful recruitment grants Su Chen nine Soul Power levels and a powerful nine-choice reward draw. 1 3
His Transcendent Immortal Flute initially offered little practical combat value beyond enhancing his temperament and charm. Rather than accept that limitation, Su Chen developed a cultivation method that tempered his body and soul, synchronized him with his Martial Soul, and evolved the flute from a decorative temperament-type Martial Soul into a versatile weapon. 5
Ning Rongrong became his first personal disciple after producing three Supreme-Grade Trait Entries. Su Chen defended her from Ma Hongjun, formally gave her an Immortal Mountain token, and began redesigning her cultivation around physical tempering, Tai Chi, Bagua, Spirit Ring selection, and Fenghou Qimen. 3 4 5 6
He later guided Zhu Zhuqing without initially accepting her, insisting that she personally meet the Three-of-Nine standard. Her diligence and repeated life-threatening training eventually evolved her Trait Entries enough for Su Chen to accept her as his second disciple. 13 27 Ye Lingling subsequently became his newest disciple and received a personalized path that transformed her healing Martial Soul toward battle-defense applications. 69 71 74
Appearance
Su Chen is consistently described as an extraordinarily handsome young man with a detached, immortal-like bearing. His presence is powerful enough to leave observers speechless, while his refined manner and natural sword intent make ordinary actions appear effortless and Dao-like. 1 13 25 64
- Usually wears flowing white or green robes with broad sleeves. 6 67
- Carries the jade-like Transcendent Immortal Flute, often with a green tassel. 67
- His movements are calm, measured, and seemingly synchronized with nature. 6 64
- His aura and appearance attract widespread admiration, including from visitors who initially approach Immortal Mountain with hostility. 3 25 64
Personality
Su Chen is principled and uncompromising in disciple recruitment. He refuses to lower Immortal Mountain’s Three-of-Nine requirement even for promising candidates such as Zhu Zhuqing and Meng Yiran, believing that exceptions would undermine the standard itself. 13 26
As a mentor, he is strict, analytical, and highly individualized. He designs cultivation plans around each disciple’s Martial Soul, physique, weaknesses, and long-term potential rather than following conventional Soul Master paths. His methods are often harsh, but he remains prepared to protect his students when their lives are genuinely endangered. 5 19 30 41
He is protective of those formally under his care. After accepting Ning Rongrong, he publicly warned that anyone who slandered, bullied, or coerced her would face consequences. 3 4 Despite his detached demeanor, he increasingly treats discipleship as a responsibility rather than merely a way to obtain system rewards. 71
Abilities & Skills
God-level Affix Disciple-Recruiting System

- Wine Immortal Order — Strengthens sword qi and restores Soul Power. 29
- Transmute Heaven and Earth — Absorbs celestial energy and can temporarily raise his Soul Power limit by up to 300%. 29
Mind Reading Technique

- Allows him to perceive the thoughts of people regardless of whether they are Titled Douluo or ordinary civilians. 66
- Used it to uncover Yu Xiaogang’s involvement in provoking Tang Hao and Spirit Hall against Immortal Mountain. 66
- Its drawback is that Su Chen also hears private thoughts he would prefer not to know. 66

- Zhu Zhuqing — Second personal disciple. He first guided her from a distance, then accepted her after her perseverance evolved three Supreme-Grade Trait Entries. 13 27
- Ye Lingling — Newest documented disciple. Su Chen is developing her Nine-Heart Begonia into a battle-defense Martial Soul. 69 71 74
