Thanos smiled as soon as he heard news of the Power Stone. "Excellent. Just what I'd expect from my daughter. What about Gamora?"
With that, he turned to his other daughter.
He treated both daughters the same, but deep down, he expected more from Gamora.
After all, in the original story, she was the one who found the most mysterious of the Infinity Stones: the Soul Stone.
Without Gamora, he would never have gathered all the Infinity Stones.
And Gamora did not disappoint him.
"Father, I found a lead on the Soul Stone. I heard it's on a rogue Fixed Star called Wilderness. I'm still looking for its exact coordinates."
A rogue Fixed Star was a rare celestial body.
The universe was infinite, but nearly every celestial body orbited the Black Hole at the center of its Galaxy.
Some Fixed Stars, however, escaped a Black Hole's gravity for one reason or another and wandered between Galaxies.
Such stars were among the hardest things to find and the most mysterious.
Their paths were nearly impossible to calculate, so their coordinates were impossible to pin down.
Thanos nodded. "I'm giving you the highest clearance. Use whatever resources you need. Find Wilderness Star."
As for how to obtain the Soul Stone once they found the star, he had worked that out long ago.
Someone only needed to sacrifice the person closest to them. He would bring ten thousand couples. Surely one pair would manage to claim it.
If ten thousand couples were not enough, he would bring a hundred thousand. He refused to believe he could fill the ravine with corpses and still fail to get the Soul Stone.
Nebula grew a little jealous when she heard that. "What about me, Father?"
Thanos gave a faint smile. "I'm going with you. Isn't that enough?"
He had no intention of letting anything go wrong when his daughter went after the Power Stone, as it had in the original story.
Least of all did he want her running into the man nicknamed the Dad-Killer: Star-Lord.
First his birth father, then his adoptive father, and finally his father-in-law.
It was as if he was saying no one got to be his father.
His father-killing passive skill was maxed out.
Nebula nodded eagerly.
"Yes."
Of course she was happy to act alongside her father.
Thanos was usually either training or out conquering.
She and Gamora rarely had a chance to spend time with him. Naturally, Nebula was pleased they could go together this time.
Soon, they left the planet that was on the verge of destruction.
Thanos did not notice the pity in Gamora's eyes as she looked at the dying animals.
Ten days later.
After a violent tremor, the Planet became a dead world.
It did not explode or break apart, however.
Its immense mass meant gravity held it firmly together even without a Star Core.
But every living creature on the Planet had died.
Without its magnetic field, the Planet could not shield itself from cosmic radiation or retain its atmosphere.
Aside from a few hardy cells, almost nothing could have survived.
After returning to Sanctuary II, Thanos had Nebula take him straight to Purple Silk Star in the Wankong Galaxy.
The Wankong Galaxy was roughly 1.7 million light-years from the Milky Way. A spatial jump could not cover that distance.
So Sanctuary II first returned to the Panlong Galaxy through a Wormhole, then used a Wormhole there to jump to the next Galaxy.
They spent three months making four jumps between Galaxies before finally reaching the edge of the Wankong Galaxy.
As soon as they arrived, they encountered a fleet.
Its flagship was a strangely shaped Spaceship.
Spaceships no longer needed useless things like wings, yet this flagship had wings made up of long, narrow strips.
The surrounding Spaceships looked far more conventional. Each resembled a spearhead, with a row of horizontal Engines behind its triangular hull.
Judging by their design, they belonged to the Kree Empire.
A moment later, a blue-skinned man in black leather armor and a black hat appeared on the screen before Thanos. He held a Warhammer.
It was Ronan, an Accuser of the Kree Empire.
"Lord Thanos, I bring you greetings on behalf of the Kree Empire."
He bowed respectfully, though he did not kneel.
Yes, Ronan was paying his respects to Thanos.
A hundred years earlier, Ronan had crossed paths with the Black Order as they expanded their territory.
With his Sub-Celestial Father Level strength, Ronan had taken on all five of them and crushed them.
In the end, Thanos had stepped in and shown him that there was always someone stronger.
Since then, Ronan had avoided Thanos whenever he could. When he could not, he had no choice but to come forward and greet him.
Thanos merely nodded at Ronan's greeting. "Give my regards to the Supreme Intelligence."
Kree society had an unusual structure. Rather than a king or a God King, they were led by the Supreme Intelligence and organized into separate groups.
The Accuser Corps was one of the three strongest groups among the Kree.
Ronan had not yet become Supreme Accuser, however, so his authority was still limited.
Ronan ignored Thanos's arrogance. "Thank you, my lord. If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way."
He had left the Large Magellanic Cloud and come to the Wankong Galaxy to search for the Power Stone.
Now that he had encountered Thanos, he wanted to get away as soon as possible.
He could not beat Thanos, after all. Avoiding him was his only option.
But Thanos had no intention of letting him go so quickly.
"No rush. I came here to find the Power Stone. You can look for it with me."
Thanos knew Ronan was searching for the Power Stone too. Confident in his superior strength, he intended to use Ronan's forces to help find it.
Ronan froze at those words.
After a moment, he said, "Well... I'm actually here on a mission..."
Thanos waved a hand, cutting him off. "I know you're looking for the Power Stone too. Help me find it, and I'll help you get your revenge. I'll destroy Xandar."
The Xandarians had killed Ronan's father, grandfather, and even members of his clan. His greatest desire was to destroy Xandar and avenge his family.
He was searching for the Power Stone so he could gain enough power to destroy Xandar.
Now that Thanos had offered to help him take revenge, Ronan nodded without hesitation. "I would be glad to serve you."
"Good. Then let's go."
With Ronan joining them, the two sides soon assembled a force of more than three hundred Spaceships and set off for Purple Silk Star in a vast procession.
