Background

Tang Hao is Tang Tian’s son, Tang Xiao’s younger brother, and Tang Yuehua’s elder brother. The Clear Sky Sect groomed him as the next Clear Sky Douluo because of his exceptional potential with the Clear Sky Hammer and his suitability for the sect’s Grand Sumeru Hammer art 105 128.

He and Tang Xiao trained away from the sect for nearly four years, becoming known across the soul master world as the Clear Sky Twin Stars. During this period, the brothers hunted powerful Soul Beasts for Soul Bones, with Tang Hao accumulating an unusually formidable physical foundation 106 115.

Personality

Tang Hao is fiercely proud of both his own strength and the Clear Sky Sect’s reputation. He despises submission, resents Spirit Hall’s authority, and reacts explosively to insults against his family or sect 106 114 115.

His confidence regularly becomes recklessness. He challenges stronger or politically dangerous opponents, attacks Bai Feng to seize a Soul Bone despite an agreement with the Soul Master Guild, and repeatedly assumes Ring Explosion can solve the consequences of his actions 121 260 261.

Despite this, he is deeply protective of his family. His desperation to save A Whale and Tang San drives him to confront Spirit Hall alone, sacrifice nearly all his Soul Rings, and even kneel to Mo Ya when he believes his wife and son are in danger 272 276 277.

Abilities & Skills

Clear Sky Hammer

Tang Hao’s Clear Sky Hammer is a strength-oriented Tool Martial Soul. He selected Soul Rings from strength-type Soul Beasts to build the physical foundation required for its most dangerous techniques 125 128.

  • Uses the Seventh Soul Skill, Clear Sky True Body, to enlarge the hammer into a massive Martial Soul Avatar 125 156.
  • His Soul Bone set further reinforces his physical power and endurance 115 189.
  • His direct, heavy-hitting style is vulnerable to fast, evasive, or precision-based opponents 123 125 160.

Clear Sky Nine Absolutes and Disorderly Wind Splitting

Tang Hao mastered all nine Clear Sky Hammer profundities and reached the highest realm of Disorderly Wind Splitting, Nine-Nine Unity 119.

  • Breaking Character Secret — a forceful hammer technique used in close-range exchanges 122.
  • Disorderly Wind Splitting — accumulates power through repeated hammer strikes, up to eighty-one consecutive blows 125 160.
  • Can coordinate these techniques with Tang Xiao in synchronized attacks, briefly allowing the brothers to pressure Qin Xuan 159 160.

Grand Sumeru Hammer: Ring Explosion

The Clear Sky Sect’s ultimate art explodes Soul Rings to convert their power into temporary combat strength. Tang Hao considers it the means by which he can surpass opponents who otherwise outclass him 123 260.

  • Allowed him to break Golden Bell Douluo’s Absolute Defense, overpower Silver Hammer Douluo, and kill Golden Bell 277.
  • He exploded his 100,000-year ninth Soul Ring during his final clash with Qian Xunji 279.
  • The technique inflicts severe backlash, removes the user’s Soul Rings for three days, and cannot safely be used again for at least thirty-six days 128.
  • Even Tang Hao’s exceptional foundation does not eliminate its extreme risks 128.

Divine Slaughter’s Domain

Tang Hao possesses Divine Slaughter’s Domain, which amplifies his killing intent and intensifies his combat pressure 114 276.

  • He used it while confronting Spirit Hall’s Golden Bell Douluo and detonating his first two Soul Rings 276.
  • His killing intent is difficult to suppress when he is angered or humiliated 114 115.

Eighth Soul Skill: Heaven-Shattering Strike

Heaven-Shattering Strike transforms the Clear Sky Hammer into a pure-energy attack that locks onto its target 260.

  • Cannot be dodged, including through instantaneous movement techniques 260.
  • Was powerful enough to seemingly crush Bai Feng, though Tang Hao had only struck a Mirror Image Clone 260 261.
  • He later used it to devastate Silver Hammer Douluo after shattering the latter’s Martial Soul 277.
  • Qin Xuan, while controlling Qian Xunji, interrupted the technique by piercing Tang Hao’s arm before the strike could land 278.

Ninth Soul Skills

Tang Hao’s 100,000-year ninth Soul Ring granted support- and control-oriented abilities that he considers poorly suited to his fighting style 260.

  • Waist Bow — increases waist strength by 200% and flexibility by 100% 260.
  • Clear Sky Lock — releases six Soul Power chains to bind a target for five seconds, but also prevents Tang Hao’s hammer from attacking while active 260.

Equipment / Soul Bones

  • Clear Sky Hammer — primary Martial Soul and combat weapon 122.
  • Full Soul Bone set — completed with Soul Bones of at least 50,000 years in age 115 189.
  • Wisdom Head Soul Bone — strengthened his foundation and helped him endure the absorption of a 100,000-year Soul Ring 260.

Relationships

  • Tang Tian — father and Clear Sky Sect master. Tang Tian viewed Tang Hao as the sect’s future and risked his own life to protect both the sect’s honor and Tang Hao’s confidence 105 128.
  • Tang Xiao — elder brother and fellow Clear Sky Twin Star. Tang Xiao repeatedly restrains Tang Hao’s impulses, fights alongside him, and sacrifices three high-grade Soul Bones to ransom him from the Soul Master Guild 106 160 274.
  • Tang Yuehua — younger sister. She defends Tang Hao during his public humiliation, cares for him after his battle with Qian Xunji, and helps finance his ransom 124 274 282.
  • A Whale (Ah Whale) — wife and a transformed 100,000-year Soul Beast. Tang Hao’s attempts to protect her from Spirit Hall trigger his expulsion and war with Qian Xunji 245 276.
  • Tang San — son, also called Little Third. Tang Hao’s most decisive battles are driven by his need to protect Tang San, and he later trains Tang San and his companions for two years 245 277 427.
  • Qin Xuan — principal rival. Qin Xuan defeats and humiliates Tang Hao repeatedly, becoming the target of Tang Hao’s long-running resentment and desire for revenge 123 125 229.
  • Xiao Wu — enemy by blood feud. Tang Hao killed Xiao Wu’s mother to obtain his ninth Soul Ring; Xiao Wu later vows to kill him 254 255.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Sect Tournament and humiliation

Seeking to restore the Clear Sky Sect’s dignity, Tang Hao publicly challenged Qin Xuan during the Sect Tournament. Qin Xuan defeated him in under a minute without using Soul Skills, exposing flaws in Tang Hao’s execution of the Clear Sky Nine Absolutes 121 123.

Tang Hao refused to accept the loss and attempted another attack with Clear Sky True Body and Disorderly Wind Splitting. Qin Xuan interrupted the technique with Sword Flight, pierced Tang Hao’s chest, and forced him to address him as “Uncle,” after which the crowd derisively called him “Haozi” 125.

Rise as Clear Sky Douluo

After reaching Rank 90, Tang Hao accepted the Clear Sky Sect’s plan to obtain a 100,000-year ninth Soul Ring. He killed Xiao Wu’s mother, a transformed Soft Bone Rabbit, and successfully absorbed her Soul Ring to become a Level-92 Titled Douluo 254 260.

Immediately afterward, he attempted to take the resulting 100,000-year Right Leg Bone from the Soul Master Guild. Bai Feng’s clone deceived him, and the Six Sword Slaves captured him before he could react 261 262.

Imprisonment, expulsion, and Spirit Hall battle

The Soul Master Guild held Tang Hao for a ransom of 100 million Gold Soul Coins and three Soul Bones exceeding 70,000 years. During his imprisonment, Mo Ya physically mutilated him and repeatedly used news of the Clear Sky Sect’s abandonment to break his resolve 262 268 272.

After his release, Tang Hao returned to find that the Clear Sky Sect had chosen self-preservation over protecting him. When he pursued Spirit Hall to recover A Whale and Tang San, the elders formally expelled him and removed his name from sect records 276.

Tang Hao then used Ring Explosion to defeat Golden Bell and Silver Hammer Douluos, killing Golden Bell and rescuing Tang San. He fought Qian Xunji while carrying his infant son and ultimately shattered the Pope’s Angel Light Blade with divine assistance from the Asura God 277 279.

Although Tang Hao believed he had only defeated Qian Xunji, the Pope died after Qin Xuan’s Ring Stacking technique exhausted his Mental Power, Soul Power, and life force 279 280.

Later life

Tang Hao continued protecting Tang San from the shadows, including brutally beating Zhao Wuji after learning of Tang San’s treatment at Shrek Academy 348.

He later led Tang San, Dai Mubai, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun through two years of intensive training using a Clear Sky Sect method that sealed and subsequently released Soul Power 427 435.

He remained hostile toward Spirit Hall and the Soul Master Guild, attempting to ambush the Tang-Elimination Squad before being instantly overwhelmed by a golden-and-crimson phoenix counterattack 389 390.
