Background / History

Tang San was born as Tang Hao and A Whale's son. His original profile listed the Clear Sky Hammer, Level 9 innate Soul Power, and S+ talent. Qin Xuan then granted the infant Blue Silver Grass, creating a Twin Martial Soul foundation before Tang San's consciousness emerged 239.

The Asura God sent an alternate-world Tang San's soul into the infant as part of a plan to cultivate a divine successor. Soon afterward, the consciousness of God King Tang San—reincarnating in search of Xiao Wu—entered the same body. He defeated both the infant's original soul and the Asura God's chosen soul, forcibly taking control of the body; the strain left the child unconscious and feverish for three days 240 241.

After awakening his Martial Souls, Tang San concealed the Clear Sky Hammer and publicly registered only Blue Silver Grass. He rejected Su Yuntao's invitation to join Spirit Hall, obtained a Martial Soul Certificate, and entered Nuoding Academy with the intention of finding Xiao Wu and using Yu Xiaogang's relationship with Bibi Dong for strategic protection 313 314.

At Nuoding, Tang San became Yu Xiaogang's second disciple. His reunion with Xiao Wu immediately went wrong: she favored Chang Gong Miao, while Tang San regarded Chang as a potential reincarnator and future threat. He repeatedly considered killing Chang, but held back because of Xiao Wu's feelings and Chang's hidden protection 323 324 326.

Tang San later reunited with Dai Mubai, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun after proving his reincarnated identity through his Twin Martial Souls, Purple Demon Eyes, hidden weapons, and knowledge of their shared past 342. He subsequently led Shrek, sought to recreate the advantages of his previous life, and began preparations to found the Tang Sect 363 441.

Appearance

Tang San's reincarnated body differs sharply from the appearance his former companions remembered. He is described as short, squat, heavily muscled, and unattractive; his appearance causes Dai Mubai, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun to initially reject his claim to be their former companion 342.

  • His childhood appearance is repeatedly criticized by Xiao Wu, who bluntly calls him ugly 324.
  • His muscular build is unusually pronounced for his age, approaching Zhao Wuji's physique in his companions' view 342.
  • A staff strike later leaves his forehead severely misshapen until it is healed 448.
  • His Blue Silver Grass is later revealed to lack the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline he believed he possessed 471.

Personality

Tang San is proud, controlling, and intensely dependent on the certainty provided by his memories as a former God King. He views many relationships instrumentally: he takes Yu Xiaogang as a master only to use him as a restraint against Bibi Dong, exploits Chang Gong Miao's wealth while privately intending to eliminate him, and later dismisses Yu Xiaogang's possible death as insignificant 313 339 362 467.

His attachment to Xiao Wu is possessive. Chang Gong Miao's closeness to her provokes jealousy, resentment, and repeated murderous thoughts, although Tang San suppresses open hostility when he fears losing Xiao Wu altogether 324 339.

Tang San is also capable of patience and long-term planning. He persuades Tang Hao not to expose Qian Renxue prematurely, instead proposing to wait until the tournament finals, where exposing her identity could also create an opening to rescue his mother 428. However, his plans repeatedly falter when the current timeline diverges from his former life, especially after the loss of the Immortal Herbs, the Eight Spider Lances, and Xiao Wu's loyalty 363 364 365.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses the Clear Sky Hammer and Blue Silver Grass. He initially hides the hammer from the public, revealing it only to Tang Hao and later during combat when his pride or survival is at stake 314 347.

  • Blue Silver Grass — Used for control, binding, and battlefield interference.
  • Clear Sky Hammer — His stronger direct-combat Martial Soul and proof of his Clear Sky Sect heritage.
  • His Blue Silver Grass is substantially weaker than he expected, losing easily to Chang Gong Miao's fire-attribute Green Tiger 339 369.
  • His presumed Blue Silver Emperor inheritance is later exposed as false; Qin Xuan states that the Martial Soul was deliberately weakened and lacks that bloodline 471.

Blue Silver Grass Techniques

Tang San can use several Blue Silver Grass abilities even without relying on Soul Rings, drawing on knowledge and mastery from his former life 378.

  • Entanglement — Restrains opponents with vines.
  • Spider Web Restraint — Creates binding webs.
  • Blue Silver Prison — Forms a prison around targets; without Soul Rings, it lacks toxicity 378.
  • His vines can regrow after being cut, though skilled opponents such as Qin Rongrong can bypass them before he can establish control 347.

Clear Sky Hammer Techniques

Tang San inherits the Clear Sky Hammer's core combat arts and relies on them when Blue Silver Grass is insufficient.

  • Clear Sky Nine Absolutes — Uses the Breaking Character Secret in his duel with Qin Rongrong 347.
  • Disorderly Wind Splitting Dance — Unleashes it during the tournament against the Qiangu sisters, but is defeated before it can turn the fight 447.
  • Grand Sumeru Hammer and Ring Explosion — Techniques retained in his memories and identified by Qin Xuan through Mind Reading 265.
  • He believes he can cultivate Twin Martial Souls through his former knowledge, but privately recognizes that he lacks many of the resources that made this possible in his previous life 365.

Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record

Tang San retains the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record after discarding much of his future knowledge during his body-seizing process 265.

  • Mysterious Heaven Skill — Internal cultivation method used for recovery and Soul Power cultivation.
  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — Movement technique used for evasion and rapid repositioning 324 347.
  • Mysterious Jade Hand — Hand technique used to deflect weapons and reinforce his hands 347 382.
  • Purple Demon Eyes — Enhances perception and is used to observe hidden weapons and avoid attacks 342 435.
  • Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon — A grappling technique among the methods he retains 265.

Hidden Weapons

Tang San manufactures and uses concealed weapons based on his Tang Sect knowledge.

  • Steel needles — Used to identify himself to Dai Mubai, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun 342.
  • Sleeve Arrows — Given to Chang Gong Miao as a token while Tang San benefits from his funding 339.
  • Godly Zhuge Crossbows — Used against the Tang-Elimination Squad, but ineffective against their coordinated defense 381.
  • Dragonwhisker Needles — Cause severe internal injuries when embedded; Tang San later suffers from his own needles being driven into his body 384.
  • His hidden weapons lose much of their advantage against opponents who can anticipate, catch, block, or counter them 381 382.

Divine Consciousness and Asura Godhood

Tang San's consciousness originates from a reincarnated God King. His mental strength is unusually high due to repeated possession and supports his attempt to absorb an exceptionally dangerous Ten Thousand Year Soul Ring 241 435.

  • The Asura God regards him as a possible successor and personally arranges parts of his fate 240.
  • Tang Chen's sacrifice temporarily restores Tang San's divine power and grants him the Asura Godhood 474.
  • Qin Xuan removes the Asura God's Divine Core from Tang San's body, stripping his restored Godhood, Martial Soul, and Soul Power 474.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Hidden-weapon components — Forged by Blacksmith Gate and assembled by Tang San with Chang Gong Miao's financial support 339.
  • Sleeve Arrows — Concealed ranged weapons 339.
  • Godly Zhuge Crossbows — Multi-shot hidden weapons used in battle against the Tang-Elimination Squad 381.
  • Asura Demon Sword — Briefly summoned after Tang Chen transfers the Asura Godhood, then seized by Qin Xuan 474.
  • Eight Spider Lances — External Soul Bone acquired from a Man Faced Demon Spider, forcibly removed by Bibi Dong before it fully fused with him 355.

Relationships

  • Tang Hao — Father and principal protector. Tang Hao trains Tang San, supports his ambitions, and shares his hatred of Spirit Hall, though he also manipulates Tang San with distorted accounts of past events 276 389 435.
  • A Whale — Biological mother. Tang San believes her to be a victim requiring rescue until her true Soul Beast form and role in his birth contribute to his mental collapse 239 471.
  • Xiao Wu — Tang San's former-life beloved and primary emotional fixation. In this life, she rejects him, grows close to Chang Gong Miao, and views Tang Hao's family through the blood feud caused by her mother's death 339 364.
  • Yu Xiaogang — Master in name only. Tang San accepts the relationship to use Yu Xiaogang's connection to Bibi Dong, while privately despising his theories and eventual lack of usefulness 313 362 467.
  • Chang Gong Miao — Fellow disciple, rival, and suspected reincarnator. Tang San exploits Chang's money and resources but repeatedly considers killing him because of Xiao Wu and Chang's potential power 339.
  • Dai Mubai, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun — Reincarnated former companions who recognize Tang San and continue to treat him as Shrek's central leader 342 376.
  • Qin Xuan — Primary enemy and long-term manipulator. Qin Xuan intervenes in Tang San's birth, monitors him from infancy, exposes the false assumptions behind his lineage, and ultimately strips his Godhood 239 471 474.
  • Asura God — Divine patron who sends another Tang San soul into the infant, supports Tang San's rise, and temporarily grants him the Asura Godhood 240 474.
  • Tang Chen — Great-grandfather whose final sacrifice transfers the Asura Godhood to Tang San 469 474.
  • Tai Tan — Loyal former servant of Tang Hao's family who recognizes Tang San as young master and agrees to support the future Tang Sect 441.
