Nemona examined Iron Bundle up close, even crouching to give it a poke.
"Arven! It looks just like the mechanical thing you described—huh? Why are you standing so far away?"
"You're the one standing too close!"
Arven didn't dare go near it.
Those things had chased him all over the place until he'd been forced to beg the Flying Taxi to come pick him up.
The sight of Mabosstiff getting hurt was still fresh in his mind. Like Miraidon, he was traumatized.
As he thought about it, he turned to look behind him.
Penny and Miraidon each clutched a corner of Baimu's shirt, peeking out from either side.
"It's already knocked out! Stop hiding!"
Everything was relative. He suddenly felt confident again.
"Let's throw it farther away."
Penny made the suggestion herself, her face drawn. "I feel like I just lost years off my life."
The sight of Iron Bundle's head separating from its body had left her shaken.
Baimu nodded. "Let's go in and unlock the observation station first. I'll come back and deal with it later. Hydreigon, keep an eye on it."
"Raaah~"
Hydreigon answered, then abruptly clamped its jaws around Miraidon's tail to stop him from leaving.
It's a Pokémon that's Unable to Battle. What are you afraid of?
The Husky Dragon glared at him.
"Gaaah! Gaaagh!"
Miraidon howled without stopping. But when Baimu moved to tell Hydreigon to let go, Miraidon shook his head dejectedly. "Ah, gaagh."
"You're sure?"
Baimu understood what the Cowardly Lizard meant and looked at him with newfound respect. "You can do it. Keep it up! You're on guard duty tonight!"
"Gaagh!?"
Miraidon froze from head to tail.
But with Hydreigon staring him down, he could only nod and accept.
At least he wouldn't be outside alone.
