Before long, though, Baimu realized that despite the limited Pokémon research of the previous century, the Gym Leader was no pushover.

Scizor should have held the advantage across the board, yet Drapion's Confuse Ray stopped it cold.

Scizor had to spend far more energy fighting through the confusion.

It had been a hard-fought battle.

An exhausted expression appeared above Scizor's head on the screen.
