"Don't disturb the neighbors!"
Baimu cupped Scream Tail's cheeks and squeezed them together, forcing its lips into a pout. "You awful Jigglypuff! How many times have I told you to keep your voice down?"
"Mmph—mmph!"
Scream Tail waved its little hands, both furious and aggrieved.
It was furious that it had lost in the one field it prided itself on—its voice. It felt aggrieved because it had nowhere to vent and was being "humiliated" on top of that.
It glared at Baimu without backing down, sulking in a huff.
"Gengar~"
"Dreepy~"
Shiny Gengar and the Dreepy Siblings tugged at their trainer's arms, trying to make peace.
Their competitive streak was partly to blame.
Normally, they should have let their new friend win a few rounds to get it excited. Who crushed someone so thoroughly the first time they played together?
The three Pokémon laughed awkwardly, looking guilty.
Just then—
"Happy~"
Blissey came over carrying a soothing incense and circled the Pokémon.
Its fragrance filled the living room.
"Ah..."
Scream Tail's angry expression gradually faded. It lowered its raised toes, and the feeler behind its head, which had been cocked as though ready to punch, drooped.
The effect was immediate.
Baimu let go and told it, "I'm not saying you can't shout. You just need to know when and where it's okay."
"Ah..."
Scream Tail still looked a little unconvinced, but it stopped yelling.
It was clearly trying hard to hold back.
From what Baimu had observed, Pokémon born from the Time Machine had temperaments quite different from ordinary Pokémon.
The ancient ones leaned toward the wild; the future ones leaned toward the rational.
Miraidon might embarrass itself all the time, but in a real battle, it fought with a clear head—a stark contrast to Koraidon's headlong charges.
