How did Baimu compare to the veteran Champions?
In truth, he lacked nothing. In some respects, he even had the edge. If there was one difference, perhaps it was that his Pokémon had had less time to grow.
Everyone knew that in the animated Pokémon World, the higher a Pokémon's energy level, the slower it grew. Going several years without gaining a level after level eighty was perfectly normal.
That was where the special nature of Effort Values came in: they had no upper limit.
Progress slowed in the later stages too, but at least it was a path they could keep building on, one that still led upward.
Compared with the Pokémon of veteran Champions, what Aggron and the others lacked was time.
Of course, the growth they had gained through levels could now easily make up that difference.
Baimu simply had not expected another chance to close that "gap."

It had been the most eager to fly around swallowing seeds earlier. With a "bottomless stomach" that could keep taking them in, its total made sense.
Baimu smiled and stroked its head. "Amazing, amazing~"
He counted the other Pokémon's seeds and cleaned them while he was at it, only to find that their combined total was barely half of Gray Fatso's.
The other Pokémon were astonished. Gengar grew even more smug, its flat nose practically lengthening into Pinocchio's.
"Hee-hee-hee~"
The final count came to more than eighty-one thousand eight hundred seeds.
The others had lacked suitable "tools." Gathering anything like Gengar's haul with nothing
