Heritage Set in Stone

It had finally rained in Pyrite Town after so long.

Without a doubt, it was the Dragon Tamers' doing.

They had dispersed the acidic substances hanging over Pyrite Town to uninhabited areas, then drawn in clean rain clouds to wash over the ruin-like land.

The downpour slowly extinguished the fires raging everywhere and rekindled the vitality in Pyrite Town's civilians.

In the civilians' eyes, Trainers who stood high above them would never do something like this. Those people only cared about themselves, and when their own interests were harmed, they would make up for the losses by taking from them.

But the Rescue Organization was different.

The people belonging to this organization came from among them, and they were not all strong, towering men and women. Even those who were small or too weak to truss a chicken were members of the Rescue Organization.

The sunless underground mines and the once-prosperous Underground City had both been shut down. Even the casinos and entertainment establishments aboveground had not escaped.

The smelters and mines, where people had once worked at least sixteen hours a day, now operated on eight-hour workdays. Not only had wages not fallen, they had actually risen.

They no longer had to pay exorbitant protection fees and "taxes." The new taxes were pitifully low compared to before.

Moreover, the Rescue Organization would help rebuild collapsed homes at extremely low prices, provide free medical treatment, rescue family members buried beneath the rubble... and even order around those former figures of authority, forcing them to build houses for them.

What made them even happier was that the once-unreachable Pokémon were gradually appearing at their sides, helping them as well.

Most importantly, they could finally eat their fill.
