Background and History

Before joining Baimu, Mawile lived in an ecological park under the care of a wealthy owner. She was pampered, willful, fond of sweets, and difficult to command when displeased. Her unusual raw strength, Sheer Force Ability, powerful jaws, and ability to fly with Magnet Rise made her valuable despite her temperament. 51

Baimu selected her as a prospective flying partner and received her through Flobo in Pyrite Town. Her transfer left her frightened and disoriented; she initially responded with aloof silence, intimidation attempts, and resistance to training. Baimu recognized that her proud behavior concealed panic over losing her former home and Trainer, then began earning her trust through patience, familiar belongings, a princess bed, food, and respect for her preferences. 58 59 61

Her willingness to participate began after Baimu left sweetened Moomoo Milk outside her room and allowed her freedom within the house. She voluntarily joined training the next morning and shocked the team by overpowering Lairon in their first friendly battle. 62

Appearance

Mawile is a petite, humanoid Pokémon with short yellow fur resembling a miniature kimono, reddish-bronze eyes, and a huge black jaw extending from behind her head. Her harmless, refined appearance sharply contrasts with the predatory mouth that gives her the “Deceiver Pokémon” name. 58
