Baimu woke to cries of "Chido, chido" and "Monu, monu."

"You two are up early?" He cracked his eyes open and saw Mawile and Deino tussling inside the tent, one chasing the other as they shoved and nipped at each other.

They seemed to be getting along splendidly.

When they noticed he was awake, Deino pounced and caught his hand in its mouth. Mawile looked relieved that he had finally woken up.

"Chido~"

"Monu!"

"Good morning."

Baimu climbed out of his sleeping bag and unzipped the tent. The sunlight was bright enough to make him raise a hand against it. Half a second later, he could make out Chansey preparing ingredients for breakfast.

Aggron was carrying a log around, trying to figure out what to do with it. Steelix was still asleep, curled into a heap.

The two giants had slept outside the tent last night, so even if nocturnal Pokémon had been active, most of the campsite remained undisturbed. They had not even needed bug repellent spray.

"Morning, everyone."

He yawned, drawing a chorus of replies from his Pokémon.

After a quick wash, he helped Chansey make breakfast. They ate, rested for half an hour, then began their morning training.
