"Cough, cough..."
Things had gotten a little out of hand.
Baimu stood on the ninth floor, coughing. Smoke swirled before him, obscuring everything. Beside him stood Aggron, breathing out white smoke, with an utterly drained Mawile perched on his shoulder.
There was no doubt about it.
The blast had knocked them down from the eleventh floor.
Luckily, Mawile hadn't ended her Mega Evolution yet. Using Magnet Rise and jets of energy from her two great jaws, she had hauled Aggron back onto the ninth floor.
Baimu, who had been on Aggron's back, had survived along with him.
Seriously, who could have guessed that Dusknoir's black hole, which didn't even count as a move that manipulated energy, would warp and detonate the Double-Edge and Iron Head that had accidentally combined into one attack?
The two moves that represented his strongest fighting power had shaken Sky Pillar itself, making the whole structure tremble violently...
Would Rayquaza beat him up when he got to the top?
He was a little worried.
He could only hope Rayquaza was magnanimous enough to overlook a little shaking.
"Thanks for your hard work. Get some rest."
Baimu patted Aggron's thick arm and stroked Mawile's head, then returned them both to their Poké Balls and sent out Hydreigon and Dragapult again.
He climbed back to the eleventh floor.
Smoke still hung thick in the air, and Dusknoir was nowhere to be seen.
The blast had probably hurled him away too. Baimu refused to believe a shock wave strong enough to send Aggron flying would have no effect on him. It hadn't been a purely Normal-type energy blast, after all.
"Use your wings to clear it away."
Baimu stayed where he was and, to be safe, had Hydreigon clear his view.
To his surprise, after beating his wings rapidly
