the broad stretch of ground beneath the arching Great Tree, near the lakeshore, had fallen into darkness. Panicked Pokémon cries rose one after another, punctuated by thuds as the ground burst open.
Serena, Kimia, Bonnie, and Magearna gathered together. But instead of boarding the airship as Baimu had instructed, they searched for the scattered Pokémon.
Within the Haze,
Aggron seized a flat mechanical tentacle emerging from underground. Just as he was about to wrench it apart, a pulse of energy shot through it and left him numb!
"Grrroar!"
His expression changed. He flung it away as though shocked, then roared a warning for his companions and the other Pokémon to avoid it. "Grrroar!"
His trainer had told him to protect the Pokémon nearby. Otherwise, he might already have used Dig to join Hydreigon and the others.
"Happy?"
Hearing him, Blissey immediately tried to restrain the tentacles with psychic power. But they were much stronger than she had expected, and she could barely hold them.
She glanced at the young Pokémon clustered around her, steeled herself, and chose to fling the tentacles away instead. "Happy!"
Run farther away!
Blissey directed the Pokémon around her while anxiously searching for Porygon2.
Their trainer had once told them that many human technologies were beyond a Pokémon's ability to handle. Even Legendary Pokémon were helpless against them.
But Porygon2, itself a product of human technology, could counter many of those inventions.
