they obtained the coffin containing Long He's remains without trouble and took it to the hospital for testing.

Shan Ren and Pheobe stepped outside when the doctor opened the coffin, leaving only Baimu, his descendant, in the room. According to Liddy, the coffin held some of Long He's belongings as well as his remains.
As soon as its contents came into view, one item caught Baimu's eye.

Baimu stared at the palm-sized wooden plaque resting on the white cloth, and memories came flooding back—

It was the Dragon Tamer Plaque he had once secretly forged to win Awu's trust. Unlike the fake in his possession, the real plaque bore the marks of time far more naturally.
Unless Banette had taken Long He's belongings and put them on some random skeleton, these remains were almost certainly his grandfather's.
