When Baimu looked over, he caught sight of Scizor raising both pincers as if surrendering to dodge the spear-straight vines shooting toward it.
Bzz!
Scizor's wings vibrated as it retreated at full speed, not daring to remain there a moment longer.
"Venu!"
Venusaur, which had taken X-Scissor head-on, charged forward boldly. When its Vine Whip failed to catch Scizor, it thrust the huge flower on its back forward and sprayed a cloud of pale blue powder.
Bzz!
A milky-white gust suddenly swept from Scizor's wings. Another Defog sent the mistlike powder blowing straight back at Venusaur.
Unfortunately, powder attacks had no effect on Grass-type Pokémon.
"Venu!"
Venusaur sneezed, then charged excitedly toward Scizor.
Sunlight poured down.
The enormous crimson flower and palm-green leaves on its back looked fresh and lush, trembling with every step as though they were breathing.
Just minutes earlier, Scizor had forced Venusaur off the field. Now the tables had turned. It showed how quickly attack and defense could switch places in a Pokémon battle, and how crucial Chlorophyll and Growth were to Venusaur.
At last, Jin Ge, sweat covering his brow, pulled out a Poké Ball to switch Pokémon. He did not even dare order a U-turn, afraid Scizor might be caught by Venusaur's Sleep Powder.
Silver Horse and Venusaur were riding high.
His success against Empoleon had swept away his earlier timidity and made him bold.
In truth, he was not confident in Venusaur's endurance either. He had simply seen Empoleon's reckless offensive tactics and decided to try them himself.
He had never expected it to work so well.
"Finish him, Silver Horse!"
"Keep that momentum going!"
The trainers from Pyrite Town shouted excitedly, as if Silver Horse were already on the verge of victory;
Over on Silicon Beryllium City's side, people whispered among themselves.
