Fode tossed out a Poké Ball with disdain, then said smugly, "Let me show you something new!"

A tall, giraffe-like Pokémon appeared, its head seemingly caught in an enormous black mouth.
Otsuka and Donphan stared in shock.
What Pokémon is that? Girafarig? No way! Girafarig isn't that tall!
An evolution?
Girafarig can evolve? I haven't learned about this Pokémon yet!
Otsuka broke into a sweat.
Fode was delighted by his reaction. Planting his hands on his hips, he laughed. "Never seen one, have you? Let me teach you! This is Farigiraf, Girafarig's evolution! As for the rest... figure it out yourself! Use Twin Beam!"
"Fari!"
Farigiraf gave a bright cry, and pinkish-purple beams shot from its large, watery eyes!

"Dodge it!"
Otsuka hurriedly ordered Donphan to evade. Fortunately, Donphan reacted quickly, rolling forward and slipping past the beams from Farigiraf's eyes.
Boom!
A shallow crater appeared in the ground. Sweat trickled down Otsuka's temple.
Did Girafarig's type change when it evolved? What about its Ability? Which of its capabilities improved?
I'll have to battle it like it's a Girafarig!
Otsuka decided to treat Farigiraf as though it had never evolved. He'd battled with limited information before; this wouldn't be that different.
