Baimu opened the Simulator.
He glanced at the rewards he had saved up.
There was little to say about the level rewards. He had kept only the one capped at level ninety. As for move rewards, a few stubborn holdouts still had no one to learn them—
[String Shot], [Pay Day], [Frost Breath], [Close Combat], and [Brave Bird].
He often regretted that none of his Pokémon could learn the last two powerful moves.
Seriously, Crobat wasn't a bird, but it had wings and could learn Brave Bird. Dodrio was a bird without wings, and it could learn the move too. So Hydreigon ought to be able to learn it!
And Close Combat—Scyther, Pinsir, and Farfetch'd could all learn it. Why couldn't Mawile?
Game Freak was so unfair with its move distribution!
He checked his remaining random move boxes. He had opened some recently, hoping to expand Gengar and the others' coverage. Now he had twenty left.
He would save them for any new Pokémon he caught.
He opened the exchange menu.
He had used up all three simulations left over from his last failed exchange attempt, because an exchange would turn the next simulation's fixed talent blue.
He had used those three ordinary simulations, then the fourth, which had a rare talent. After that, he had saved up a new fourth ordinary simulation, followed by the fifth and sixth ordinary simulations, and finally a seventh simulation with a rare talent.
If he made the exchange now, consuming the first three ordinary simulations, would the fixed talent appear in the fourth ordinary simulation or the seventh rare one?
Most likely, it would appear in the fourth ordinary simulation. Baimu couldn't move the seventh simulation out of the way, either; the Simulator had no such function.
So he had used them without
